In the first episode when Argos says this, we just treat it as a joke. We just think he's being ignorant and annoying.

But what if he wasn't actually being ignorant?

Just imagine Mr Plant simply chilling in his void being like "oh Argos probably will be back soon from getting groceries", then it starts raining, then Argos comes in absolutely soaked and most likely a bit grumpy because of his situation so a little bit later Mr Plant is helping him dry his hair.

MR. PLANT x ARGOS HEADCANON

Mr. Plant loves running his fingers through Argos’ hair! He does it absentmindedly when they’re sitting on the couch watching TV together! It’s become especially prominent now that his hair has gotten so long, and Argos loves it. If you were to ask him, it’d be his favorite part about growing his hair out.

we know that when you enter void one, mutation can occur. What if argos's eyes were a mutation? I don't see any reason why this wouldn't be a plausible theory, but if someone has any counter arguments or evidence that supports a different theory, I'm all ears!

What i assumed happened.

Argos and his family got in the void somehow. He and his family arrived in void one and they started to notice the mutations occurring. Argos and his great grandfather escaped, Argos ended up sprouting eyes all over his body and his great grandfather turned into a banana leaf. Im also going to assume that the void messed with his genetic makeup and Argos is 1/16 banana leaf now. Id also think that the void made Argos forget his own name (and since he loves greek mythology) he decided that the name "Argos" would be a good replacement. Argos and his grandfather initially wanted to escape, but after they had a disagreement (Argos wanted to stay and his grandfather wanted to leave) so they decided to part ways a bit.

•they both like to go on night walks together, and they do it pretty often

•when they first met, Mr plant actually kinda liked him at first, but started to get annoyed with him, began to hate him, started to warm up to him again,and then he started to love him, romantically.

•another thing was that Mr plant had just killed someone before he met Argos literally a few minutes later.

•Mr plant has acrophobia and every time he goes on a trip with Argos to find a plant that involves heights, he clings onto him like a little baby.

•Argos can deal with spiders, but not bugs, and Mr plant can deal with bugs, but not spiders (what a perfect dynamic)

•Mr plant likes to mess with other ppl by creating vines that would come out of his body or make his limbs turn into multiple vines and trip them or smth, and Argos would lightly lecture on why he should not do that

•The reason why Argos right eye is lighter then his left eye is because once he was out on a venture looking for a toxic plant, and when he finally found the plant it shot out a toxic substance that went straight into his eye.

•Argos likes to play with Mr plants petals like it’s hair, dw they are pretty strong, so they wouldn’t fall off as easily as normal fragile petals.

•Argos absolutely DESPISES his dad, once he got a letter from him saying he wanted to try and reconnect with him, Mr plant had to stop him from burning the house alongside the letter.

•They have similar backstories, which brought them closer together.

•Argos actually really hates everyone, he’s really just forcing himself to engage with anyone he talks to only bc he really HAS too, the reason? Well his sister made him promise to try and change, and uh she’s dead now. When Mr plant found out about this he finally had an understanding on why Argos was so annoying, maybe even enhances his love for him 😏 (this was one of the headcannons I was REALLY skeptical on posting lmao)

•Mr plant forces himself to smile, he doesn’t know why he has to smile he just feels like he has to, Argos love his smile very much, even if it’s not genuine most of the time.

•Both Mr plant and Argos are strong, it’s just that Mr plant knows he’s quite powerful, and Argos doesn’t really acknowledges his strength, he doesn’t even know he’s really strong, his strength normally is pretty weak, but sometimes his true potential likes to slip out at the most random times, his range of strength likes to change for some reason.

•Argos knows about the meaning of life, Mr plant doesn’t know this (shhhh don’t tell him, Argos might chase you down)(we don’t talk about this one)

•Argos LOVES apple juice, Mr plant would often get him some bc he wants to.

•Argos is a cannibal, and Mr plant is lowkey into it.

•They both hate ppl, but expresses their hate in different ways (I kinda already said this but whatever)
