Best part of being back working in a kitchen is getting to watch, in real time, how much of the place is held together by women.
The guys will spend 15 minutes debating how to do something, and meanwhile a women has already done it, cleaned up the mess, and moved on.
Still thrle depressing part is realizing how much of that labor goes unnoticed. The women who are the most competent often end up doing the most work, fixing everyone else's mistakes, and carrying the team without getting any extra recognition for it.
It's one thing to see women outperforming the men. It's another to see how often that extra labor is simply expected.
Funny how the women keeping everything running are rarely the ones getting the credit.
