I guess you could say... Twitter really is Tumblr's "X"
Wanted to recount a liiiitle bit of Tumblr's history. I'm a tumblr veteran, so I saw it all first hand! It was a meeeeesssy breakup and tumblr really held a grudge...
Also I'll stand by the reigen thing fight me
Is this even anything
wait i kinda like the tumblr x twitter ship with them being married and starting off healthy but twitter slowly becomes conservative so they are toxic and get divorced and then twitter turns emo and into “X” while tumblr gets married to ao3
My honest reaction

Can't believe Tumblr got sent to the hospital this time, usually AO3's the one with health complications. Also, considering Twitter was reportedly ALSO down for a bit, I choose to believe they got into a nasty fight and hospitalized each other
How charming
What I think happened:
While Archive was in and out of the hospital, Tumblr, in a moment of desperation, started hanging out with Twitter again to not feel the crushing dread. While they were low, their X convinced them to try a change in style to feel better, maybe even copy his. And that's what the new update was. But with Archive back and absolutely saying nope to that (and pointing to the many, many complaints or their kids), Tumblr is realizing this was a stupid idea and taking it back
