Edward has been conducting a several-decade long study on the psyche of high school students (and how they differ between decades + age group). His guilty pleasure is also gossip, but he’d never admit it.

Rosalie likes that it gives her the opportunity to pretend like she’s still human. She can keep up with the times, the fashion, the pop culture and be whoever she wants at the same time. It gives her the chance to be a teenager, something she couldn’t really be in life.

Alice absolutely loves chronicling fashion movements. The early 2000s were such a ball for her, as were the 60s.

Jasper doesn’t like it as much because of the expectation that he’s weaker than the rest of the group and all, but he likes to go to history class.

Emmett gets a kick out of people finding him intimidating, or better, attractive. Whenever someone has a crush on him, he goes all out to embarrass them subtly or just mess with them. He never leads them on, though.

Even though Rosalie is fiery, firm in her beliefs, and vengeful, these things are not as strongly in opposition with Esme’s passion, open-mindedness, and her capacity to forgive. Rather, I would say that these being direct opposites is indicative of the one way they are so related: the pattern of their human lives.

Esme was married to her abuser, but managed to get away from him. She dreamed of being a mother of a child and wanted to care for one in all stages of their life and yet she lost her baby. Conversely, Rosalie exists practically in a period of purgatory, a state of “almost”; she was engaged, not quite married yet but soon, she didn’t have the chance to see her abuser for who he was before it was too late and so she was nearly able to get away, she just about got her dream of a baby, but she was still on the verge.

Carlisle: Quit letting Edward make decisions that affect the family. You've known him the better part of a century, you know what he's like. Telling a human the truth and then dipping was nuts (not to mention illegal? Hello?), and you know it. Also, you need to ditch the peaceful father figure thing and get a little freaky. You bit four people in two decades and sedated a soccer mom on the side of the I-10. I know you have it in you.

Esme: You have four other children that aren't Edward. You are up his ass in a way that no mother should be.

Emmett: The next time Edward insults your wife, punch him in the throat. Do it. Punch him in the throat. It'll be cathartic, not to mention really funny.

Rosalie: No Notes.

Jasper: Don't sell yourself short. It takes a monumental amount of conviction to fail over and over and keep getting back on the wagon.

Alice: No Notes.

Edward: Self-loathing is just another form of self-absorption. You can think you are the best or the worst; either way, you are probably thinking about yourself way too much. Your decisions are not the only ones that matter.

Bella: Look, I could give her advice, but she would never take it.

Jacob imprinting was sad, but he also deserved it. He had zero regard for Bella’s thoughts or feelings throughout the pregnancy. It didn’t matter to him that Bella had been willing to give everything for this child, including her life. He was still willing to murder her baby and was about to do just that right before he imprinted.

The thing is, Jacob never respected Bella’s choices or feelings. He assumed he knew what was best for her and was willing to cross serious lines to get his point across. (Side note: who knew him sexually assaulting her was a red flag?)

I just think it’s a little karmic that Jacob hated Bella’s choices so much that he was willing to murder her child (that was obviously a child and not a gremlin), and as a result, he has all of his choices taken away. Jacob hated the thought of imprinting. He never would have chosen that path for himself.
