It just occured to me that the Tillie Walden comic really makes Clementine a down right asshole.
Not only does she abandon AJ which sheĀ promisedĀ him sheĀ neverĀ wouldĀ againĀ (seriously, how do you disrespect TFS so badly?)Ā
ButĀ consider this: AJ and most likely Ruby with some possible help (and sick to death worrying) from the others,Ā savedĀ ClementineāsĀ lifeĀ by healing her chopped off leg. The game skips this entirely but you can just picture how Clementine was on the brink of dying when AJ brought her back to the school and it must have taken tons of effort and days if notĀ weeksĀ of her to survive and heal from the amputation and blood loss. Iāve already read some fanfics describing this but you just know Ruby was fighting to save Clemās life, possibly aided by AJ and Aasim while Louis/Violet cried and prayed and hoped their beloved/best friend would make it. Then imagine the joy and relief from them all when sheĀ did!
Clementine literally would have died if not for AJ and the Ericson kids,Ā theyĀ nursed her back to health.Ā SheĀ owes them her life.
So, how does Clementine repay them according to Tillie Walden?Ā
By dumping them, shortly (!!) after sheās recovered, not even saying goodbye to any of them?? Hell, she wasnāt even going to say goodbye toĀ AJ, he only got a forced goodbye as he followed her runaway ass! Ā Ā
I donāt care whatever money-grabbing label Skybound is slapping onto this mess because Tillie wanted to write her fanfiction after not even having played the games.
