I was scared of the IV yesterday because i thought it would be like donating blood where they leave the needle in your elbow but its actually not like that at all they just put the needle in for a second to get the tube in and it only hurts for 1 second and its not in your elbow its on your arm

every so often I remember I was supposed to get my polio vaccine between the ages of 3-5 but for Whatever Reason (my parents forgot, and then divorced when I was 6) I didn't get it until literally my 18th birthday so the government's gift to me for my birthday was Crying Over Needle (I do not do well with needles, and I have unfortunately gotten worse with every one. I threw a fit* in 5th grade when I had to get an IV at the hospital and I have not been a good patient when it comes to them since)
*I was 11 and in massive amounts of pain from appendicitis, the worst pain in my life at the time, and terrified of both needles and the hospital especially in emergency situations which, considering the doctor had told us to go to the ER, this was. I also hadn't eaten anything all day long and it was then approaching approximately dinner time so I was in agony, terrified, hangry, exhausted because I'd been awake in pain since about 6am, and eleven years old.
