For some reason that might be decided later, Sonic and his friends (Tails, Knuckles, Amy, Rouge, Shadow (his boyfrienddddd), Silver, Blaze, Cream, Vector, Espio, Charmy) are in the woods together. Camping maybe? Anyways, they're there for a week, and every night somebody goes missing. Every morning, their corpse is found mangled.
One night, Shadow goes missing. They don't find his body that morning, but they find him the night after he goes missing. Except, this poor soul doesn't have the mercy of being dead. Instead, he's completely alive. His eyes have been carved out, his ears have something (undecided) done to make him deaf, and his tongue torn out. His limbs are disgustingly stretched, his arms dragging across the grass. The only sounds he can make are gurgling, pained moans, and banshee-like screeching. He bumps into trees, stumbling around and moaning in agony before feeling a presence. That must be them. The person who did this to him. He screams, raising a broken arm to point at them before slowly staggering towards them. Shadow stares down at them with empty sockets, feeling them reach up to... Caress his face? How dare they? As if they didn't do this? He rips them limb from limb, wailing in agony as his stretched limbs creak and fracture. They die violently at his hands.
Sonic just wanted to keep looking for Shadow. Amy told him not to go, because he might be the next victim. He heard thuds and moans, assuming that it was the person who was doing all of this and rushing to go whoop their ass (survival instincts of a breadcrumb). He didn't expect to see his boyfriend, weeping in misery as his mutilated legs barely carried him into slamming against another tree. Sonic stood there as his lover pointed and screeched. Sonic stood there as his lover wobbled closer. Sonic comforted his lover, reaching up to caress his face and telling him that everything would be okay. Sonic begged as his lover ripped him apart, mumbling I-love-you's like prayers in his final moments. He really shouldn't have gone out alone. Again, survival instincts of a breadcrumb.

Anyways, uh, ansjdhdjdnsksns. It's obviously inspired by Island of the Slaughtered because my dumbass can't stop looking at the IOTS Casefiles AU when I'm about to go to bed and this seemed fun. I have NOTHING else, but if y'all like it, I might work on it more. Also, Sonic is not, in fact, hanging onto the other side. Sonic, in fact, gave up at the end of himself. I guess he kinda faced his fear. Bad time to do that bro.

I decided to rewatch some more recent (like 2022) Aphmau videos because I used to when I had nothing else to do and noticed that the SMP version of Zane honestly kinda reminded me of Subspace because you know? Know it all, scary scientist in mainly engineering and covers their mouths and 1 eye?
So I ended up drawing Zane with something akin to Subspace's rotting condition but it turned into it's own thing, so now he's in a constant state of pure human and pure werewolf bc of some sort of accident
