hi, it's me, j from my friend @/angliastralic's (formerly @/cloversconstellation, shy had to move acccounts because of issues with google) asks! i finally got into tumblr a few months ago, so i can finally come and ask here!
just heard the news that pcos has been renamed to pmos, so i wanted to ask something now, since i've ruled out fused labia due to it actually just moving upwards when trying to look at it, so i'm back to square one which is questioning hyperandrogenism. i think it's definitely pmos now after checking wikipedia for the pcos rename, but i still wanna check with a gynecologist for an official veredict.
i'm planning to go on june after my birthday, since i got my final exams on friday and saturday of june's first week (that saturday also falls on my birthday, so it might seem like it sucks, but it starts at 8:30 am so i have plenty of time to celebrate after i finish!), and not much about my actual traits changed even with my months of exercise, since mom says periods can get irregular with it, but mines always were irregular since the beginning, so not much stuff changes really (also a lot of my pants fit better now with it!), so i feel like i'm ready to go once the load (exams) is done!
one problem though. if i do get diagnosed with pmos, i'll be prescripted estrogen in the form of birth control and i REALLY don't wanna take it, because i've learned to love my traits the way they are and i don't want to be "fixed". however my family always has to make sure i take all my pills daily (it may just be two, being sertraline and risperidone, but unlike the birth control pills, these *are* actually useful for me due to my tendency to daydream and dissociate due to my autism and adhd, so i need to be reminded to take them so i don't wander off), so i'll sadly have to comply for now. maybe in the future i could try and get some t to get my high testosterone back (if i do actually have it), but for now, the present's the present, and i have to live through it.
rant aside, thanks for helping me and my friend by the way, we really appreciate it 🥹🥹
i hope pcos's name change to pmos makes it better for me to know if i'm intersex, since i check a lot of the boxes, but differential diagnoses also exist, so i just wanna check with a professional to see what exactly it is!
once again, thanks for everything :D (positive)
Hoping the best for you! Sorry for taking so long to respond. Wish we had better advice for you, but unfortunately we don't. I don't know if you already went to the doctor, but if you're getting tested for a hormonal variation, make sure they also check your SHBG, albumin, and progesterone!
