Robin is living in just about every bad ya tv show that went on for four too many seasons ever made. He’s the bad boy leg of the main love triangle with a girl who’s only discernible personality trait is that she claimed to have read Wuthering Heights exactly one time in episode 1. The issue is that Robin is very quickly catching on to the fact that he is in a story. He’s fully cognizant and real against the insane plots he’s forced into, and has the unfortunate luck to be affected by the traumatic villain-of-the-week stories even as everyone around him never mentions them again.

Everyone around him accepts retcons and poor writing and forgotten plotlines like they’re nothing, but Robin can’t. When he’s injured it scars him, even as his co-stars remain squeaky clean. He’s turned into every Halloween monster under the sun and tormented and written into corners- but that’s not the worst of it.
