long time no tummy post...
I am here and happy (?) to report to all of you that my tummy is once again feeling very upset. My fault? You guessed it! (yes absolutely it was my fault). I am still writing some stories to depict my sensitive tummy's battles over the last two months of 2025, but catching up at work after the new year and starting school again hasn't really left me much time to put my beautiful OCs into their very sickly situations. womp womp :(
Truthfully, the past couple of weeks have been mentally hard for me. I never do well with the new years (or the winter season in general), but after the shitstorm of last year, starting another year again feels scary. Blah blah okay, mental health is so important so pls don't misconstrue this, but why am I mentioning this in a belly post? I'm glad you asked. Depressive episodes for me equal a spike in tummy upsets, as I tend to either eat less than normal, or far far more. Either way, it's uncomfortable. This time around I haven't been eating as much (still getting enough, just less than normal) and it's made my belly's usual ability to relieve itself a bit more difficult. Simply put, I haven't been able to get full relief for a while and it's been messing with my lower belly pretty frequently. Here's where the fun (for all of you) comes in.
Last night I decided that I was going to purchase two bottles of liquid colonoscopy prep from the store, and a box of laxative chocolates. I had gone to a dinner with friends, and had eaten quite a bit more than I had for dinner during the week. My stomach HURT. We had gone to a place about two hours away from my apartment too, so my drive back was really long and painful. I cracked open the first bottle of colonoscopy prep and mixed it with a drink I hadn't finished from that morning, and drank it on my way home. I also began eating a couple pieces of the chocolate (which was absolutely disgusting by the way), and by the time I got home, my stomachache had turned into a painful and uncomfortable bout of the bubbleguts. Great, right? Exactly what I wanted to happen- bubbleguts typically lead to getting full relief. This time it didn't.
I came in and changed into comfortable clothes before heading to the bathroom. I sat there for a while, waiting for my belly to begin expelling the sickening slop that sat low down inside me. My attempt was unproductive and after about twenty minutes, I decided I would lay in bed for a while to try and get things moving. I laid down and rubbed my lower belly for a while, and the pain subsided a bit, but the general discomfort that lied beneath my skin didn't go anywhere. Luckily I was able to fall asleep soon after the pain lessened, and slept in pretty late into the morning.
I woke up around ten this morning with the feeling that I needed to GO. I got up and went into the bathroom to let out everything that had bubbled up throughout the night. It took a while and was pretty uncomfortable, but I still didn't feel like I had a ton of relief. My lower belly was still hurting and churning, and I made the executive decision to crack open the next bottle of laxatives and take about four more of the chocolates (they're teeny, maybe the length of a mike'n'ike and about as thin as a sour strip). I only drank half of the liquid lax, and my belly still has yet to clean itself out. Should I drink the other half?
