Happy One Year Ficaversary to Welcome to Nug E Cheese!
That's right, one year ago today I posted the very first chapter on ao3. It was also the first fic I ever put up on ao3. I cannot believe it's been a whole year since I had this crazy idea after one too many trips to the real life Chuck E. Cheese.
The ficaversary coincides with Neve's work anniversary as well, 10 years with the Nug E Cheese family. She was featured in this month's company newsletter with an exclusive interview!
To celebrate both of these momentous occasions, I bring you a very special episode of The Howling Wolf Podcast, in which Solas reads the description of Welcome to Nug E Cheese, and rates the fic.
Both treats down under the cut!
This month's Nug E Cheese employee spotlight goes to Store Manager Neve Gallus. She's been with the company now for 10 years and store manager for the past 5. To celebrate this milestone, we caught up with Neve and got to know her a little better.
Q: Tell us about yourself and how you started with the company. What's a goal you're working toward for the store?
A: I started with the company when I was looking for a career change and I wanted a place to work that was in the heart of the community. Along those lines, I am doing my best to continue that legacy of being the place that parents want to bring their children, and have it be an integral part of their childhood and their neighborhood.
Q: Your store has some unique local outreach programs. How did you decide which groups to partner with?
A: I reached out to local groups that had after school programs for large groups of children. Nug E Cheese is a great place to bring them to help break up routine, celebrate events, or just use up extra energy.
Q: What makes the Dock Town location a great place to work?
A: I love that it's close to home. I was born and raised in Dock Town, so it's very close to my heart. I get to walk to work and give back to my community.
Q: Your store is one of the only locations with original animatronics. Which one is your favorite? Tell us a favorite memory about it!
A: My personal favorite is Schmooples the nug. We hunted for her original outfit for months, it was a real team effort. It was very rewarding to get her back in her original look.
Q: If you could invite anyone to work there for a day, who would it be?
A: I would love to spend the day with Regional Manager Solas. He's been with the company far longer than I have and I'm sure he has a wealth of knowledge to share about running the store efficiently and keeping customers happy.
Q: What is your favorite thing about working for Nug E Cheese?
A: Working some place that makes children so happy has been very fulfilling.
Q: Any recognition or shout-out you'd like to give?
A: I have to shout out our maintenance engineer Bellara. She can fix any machine and our animatronics would not be working without her. She's truly one of a kind.
Q: Last one - What's your favorite game and do you have a high score on any of them?
A: Hmmm this is a tough one. All the games in the store are so much fun to play. I think my personal favorite has to be High Town Heist. I held the high score on that one until just a few weeks ago when our newest employee beat me.

1) @mythals-whore’s Cyri, ‘cause something good happened in her life which definitely deserved a hug. Sorry Cyri if Ayanne took you off guard with too much affection, but you know how she is, she couldn’t resist <3
2) @davrinsleftpectoral’s Turvi, since something awesome is gonna happen in nug e cheese and I was super excited, so yes, hug it is. Of course, between Turvi and Ayanne, I don’t know who gives the strongest and longest hugs, I think there might be a competition between them about this, but what counts is that they share some serotonin, which is always good for the soul :D

Sorry if I sound harsh but this showed up in my feed because I had looked up into all the Blake Justin drama and her first post showed up and I was like damn she is going after Justin (Nothing new) but then I kept reading her posts and I realized she doesn't even want to hear the other side why is that.

I rest my case. Sorry sister there is no way I am even going to try to argue with you. I have won 3 debate competitions but I have realized (specially reading your posts) there is no way you can win arguments with them just let them believe what they want because despite these swifties/Blake supporters claiming they are very inclusive and shit just LOVE to dismiss how they hurt the poc community. For example this woman just agreed yes Blake married in the plantation but guys she apologized and gave money to charity and promised to educate herself (bro she didn't get married in the 80s what school did she go to to not understand what a plantation is and why you should definitely not have a celebration there)
It's like they can't even hear themselves speak and this is just one of the examples and I just wanted to do this long rant to say

“he kissed her without consent without an intimacy coordinator present!!!” yeah……they don’t usually have intimacy coordinators for a kiss. and if she was genuinely uncomfortable with that, being in character while actively filming, it was HER responsibility to say or do something at the time. given her collaborative relationship with Justin, that wouldn’t have been hard. instead she said nothing at all and let him believe that was okay to do in character while filming because it was a character. they’re actors. this is what they do. you’d have to really be deepthroating those ugly Gucci boots to not be capable of understanding that. but, then again, these are swifties.
I’ve been through this rodeo before so I’m used to this behavior and general reaction, and I’m actually thankful for that original experience because i can do it braver this time. I’m glad this space can give you a break from all the manipulation and gaslighting going on out there.
