I love the dual meaning of Song For The Countryside, not only is it a song telling Harold to set out into his pilgrimage. But it is also The Balladeer, aka David in a sense reconnecting with Harold.
“Set yourself free” is a great lyric, as it could mean both of his guilt and to become at least more at peace with himself.
Harold’s characterized to be rather polite Id say, he’s very humble and acknowledges his part in David’s death. But the issue is he has to truly understand to not let it tear him down.
