tumblr used to be a high throughput reef ecosystem but then they banned titties and now we’re like an ecosystem in the abyssal sea floor just quietly chugging along, cycling through nutrients at a much slower rate.
then every once in a while a some huge news comes along like queendeath and it’s like a whale fall, we come crawling out of the woodwork like isopods, hagfish, and burrowing worms to feast on the memes for years

i do need to thank tumblr for having one of the quickest bot reporting systems of any site i use (sign of regular infestation, like seeing roach traps all over a hotel room). two-click process and they're outta heah

the disappointment I feel when a really good post has no reblog button but instead is from one of those newfangled Tumblr communities is comparable to losing the championships. idk anything about sports but I'm sure they're comparable

(also more importantly this is very bad/lame for artists/gifmakers/writers/creatives for obvious reasons….. it makes me happy when ppl add comments/reactions to my work whether it’s in the tags or in the reblog, and it would really really suck if the version that went popular was a reblogged version w/ comments and I as the original artist/gifmaker didnt end up seeing any of it)
