Is anyone else utterly confused by the attitude of âdonât leave comments on my tumblr posts?â I personally love it when people reblog my posts with comments (even just âthis post was goodâ).
Tumblr was made for people to have conversations through reblog chains. And I think part of why a lot of Tumblr users have moved to discord is *because* the site culture has shifted away from talking in reblog chains, the way weâre meant to, and discord offers a substitute for that type of conversation. Tumblr is a great place for those forum-like discussionsâ itâs a core part of how youâre supposed to interact with the siteâ- but for a while people have been discouraging users from leaving comments in reblogs âunless they have something super important to sayâ which is utterly baffling to me.
As a result the only comments you get on your posts are often just, people rudely disagreeing with you? Because the people who agree and want add on, or the people who politely disagree and want to have a genuine friendly debate about media, feel like itâs not worth commenting at all.
Especially because the site is less busy now, I like it when people treat tumblr as a big Discord server conversationâ using reblog chains as a way of having a discussion.
I genuinely donât understand where the anti-comment attitude comes from, at all. đ to me itâs like: if youâre not trying to talk to people, then why are you even posting? Tumblr is such a âsmallâ website that thereâs not a lot of point trying to be a tumblr influencer.
This is all to say that: anyone should feel free to leave comments in the reblogs at any time! I love having discussions by reblogging back and forth :D
