Tucker: I would love that too. When’s good for you to get together? I usually have a full schedule but I always, always, have time for my Mentors.

Talia: Please tell me you have enough devotees to share. None of my harem survived the trip from New York.

Quinn took nearly a dozen slow, even breaths as she paused outside Tucker Warner’s door. She anxiously bounced from foot to foot anxiously, before forcing herself to be still again. She tried to convince herself not to be terrified, that this had been at least halfway her idea anyway, but it was mostly futile. 

Before she could second guess herself (again), she raised her hand to knock rapidly on the door. “Mr. Warner? It’s Quinn.”

Tucker: Hey, thank you. So…you didn’t answer my first question…how are you?

Quinn: You're welcome.

That’s good, that’s good! I’m very happy to hear that. I’ve heard good things about your classes as well. Mia clearly put her trust in just the right person.

She did and I’m happy that you two had a good time.

Hey, listen…they’re discouraged but they’re not punished. Neither of you will face consequences for this. I just will tell you what I told Mia. You have a good head on your shoulders, Ms. Fabray, and I am putting trust in your judgement. I know you recognize the reason for being at Harborage in the first place and I trust that you can work on yourself alongside having someone to share an emotional connection with. Please believe there’s no judgement from me on this matter.

My punishment? I don’t have one of those. Unless you consider…taking on a book club, punishment? Because, I’ve gotten an email from young Mr. Fox, the volunteer that was here and he said he still wanted to get that up and running. Landon expressly said that if there was anyone at Harborage he trusted to bring it to life, it would be you.

I’m sure they were being polite. It’s far more difficult to teach than Mia makes it look.

I don’t understand... I clearly showed poor judgement in asking Miss Mia for dinner in the first place. You shouldn’t be putting your trust in me if I’ve already shown blatant disregard for the rules. Whether I understand what I’m doing at Harborage or not seems irrelevant. There were boundaries put in place that were broken. 

Tucker! Hi. It was very nice. Thank you for asking. Did I miss anything important?

Quinn: Mr. Warner?

Tucker: Quinn?

Quinn: Just wanted to let you know that I got a letter back from UT Austin.

Hi, Mr. Warner. I’m doing well. I think the yoga class I taught for Miss Mia went okay. Some of the transitions into new poses weren’t as smooth as I’d like, but I don’t think anyone was too bothered by it.

I believe Miss Mia connected with you about our... date. I asked her rather spontaneously on a night I was feeling brave. She’s been very good to me, and has made me feel comfortable enough that I could ask for that. She’s so wonderful, I can’t believe she said yes. We had a lovely evening together.

But I understand that relationships between Mentors and Residents are discouraged. And I understand why that is the case, truly. It was inappropriate of me to have asked her for such a thing when it was against the rules.
