Ep. 4: Scars in the Wasteland time let's fucking GOOOOOOO
This intro gets me so pumped up man istg
And of course, the iconic "Tsume discusses his cannibalism plans in front of everyone" scene
"Anime food always looks so good!"
I love these scenes where they're doing something that reminds you they're wolves when they still look human lmao
The slow panning shot of Tsume disappointedly looking on with the eating noises in the back is comical to me
Don't compare all meat to hamburger Toboe, you're gonna sound American
Ok Toboe we get it, you like girls
The way Tsume calls them losers gives off middle school bully vibes to me and it's hilarious
Quick. What 2000s emo music would he have listened to? Sound off in the comments below
"It doesn't matter does it? We're always alone," just making note of this line because I like it
Has there ever been an edit where when Toboe steps on the Giant Murder Robot it just cuts to an explosion like it was a mine. Because I think that should exist.
It should also cut to the credits
Counter of how many times Toboe says Tsume's name in this episode, but you just get to imagine it because I'm not going back to do it rn
I looooooove the Giant Murder Robot and I love how its existence is never explained
I need to know how Cher's "sacrificed her whole life" for Cheza, because with how Hubb adds their relationship as a footnote to that it sounds like Cher's been working herself into the ground for who knows how long
Cher, my existential crisis girlie, oh how I love you
Cher after talking about how everything she's worked towards in her whole life feels pointless: "So yeah. That's how I've been doing.."
Hubb: "... I know that I was just talking about how that guy was crazy but Wolves Are Probably Real"
I feel like there's some truth in Cher saying she doesn't want to think about wolves rn when this existentialism is very likely coming from her reading about the end times and all that fun shit, and I like how that goes hand in hand with her trying to get Hubb to stop talking about it when they're likely being watched. Good stuff
Part of the appeal of Hubb Lebowski is that he is a loser. It is vital to his being
THE. GOD. DAMN. BACKGROUNDS.
THE FUCKING SEA OF SKULLS IS JUST. WOW....
It says so much with so little. It's not dwelled on at fucking all. I love it
I love the atmosphere of this show. It's so vibes based and boy are the vibes GREAT
Hige trying to get backstory lore out of Kiba is so funny when he's Hige
Kiba with pyrophobia anybody? Blue too while we're at it?
Wait can Hige read????? Where did he learn THAT??????
Oh my god the sign says there's mines so YES HE CAN
Brief intermission where I went to confirm my suspicions:
I've thought about this before actually. I need Hige to be the guy who has unexplainable knowledge and talents that the others don't have and they're like How The Fuck Do You Know That and he's like. Shrugs. Picked it up while I was about
Hige, you do not have to follow this guy around to the ends of the earth, you can leave if you want, it's ok (but we know he never will)
"You're covered in scars.." shows one scar
Sorry sorry, I know it's to be more animation friendly since extra floating shapes like scars can be hard on animators but it's still at least a little funny
Sound off, what are y'all's Tsume scar headcanons? Tell me in the comments below- (gets shot for using the same stupid joke twice)
They're like Kenai and Koda from brother bear fr fr
God. The shot switch to Giant Murder Robot looming over Tsume is so fucking awesome
I LOVE THIS SCENE LET'S GOOOOOOO
Kiba has a lot of badass moments but this has gotta be like. Top 5, if not top 3
Cher's home is so barren, and I have a feeling part of her knew she'd never come back..
Ohhhhhh, my overworked on the cusp of thinking existence is pointless girlie I love yooouuuuu <3
"Well don't get too used to it, kid," don't fight it Hige, no one can resist Kind Son for long
Something something wolves are social creatures...
God.. these credits being the one with Kiba backlit by the rising sun after that episode fucking HITS
This episode had it all. Cher being depressed, Giant Murder Robot, Tsume being traumatized, beautiful backgrounds, Hige canonically knowing how to read and it never being acknowledged, Kind Son being kind all over the place, Kiba soloing Giant Murder Robot. 11/10 would Giant Murder Robot again
Scars in the Wasteland you're fucking banger
