these are all questions that feel immediately relevant to the bedroom scene, and questions that shiki does essentially ask himself directly! i do think that nasu does view shiki (presumably for supernatural reasons) to genuinely not have control of these urges, and that this does influence the bedroom scene afterwards. i think that from shiki's perspective, he is genuinely trying to make arcueid feel good and be kind to her, but simply has not unpacked the reasons he feels these things towards her regardless of whether those reasons are societal or supernatural. so a scene like the scene in arcueid's bedroom, a depiction of the ways human beings are all entirely capable of harming each other despite their own good intentions, the ways that shiki ignoring arcueid's objections connects to the rest of her route... it all feels very compelling to me.
