Yoriichi is a simple man with simple needs: to ensure that his beloved is living a satisfactory life.
He will always make sure to put your happiness and pleasure over his own, making him the ideal service top. No matter how aroused he is, Yoriichi is sure to make you orgasm first.
He was quite shy asking for sex at first because not only was he inexperienced, he didn't want to burden you.
Even after being together for a while Yoriichi still had trouble expressing his desire for you. His actions to get you in the mood were always so subtle to the point where it'd just be straight up confusing.
He'd sort of just stare at you up and down hoping that you'd get the hint and initiate something. Either that or he'd tower over you, which could get pretty intimidating considering his height.
It really isn't his fault, though! He's never done anything beyond innocent physical affection and kissing before meeting you.
Nonetheless, he learned very quick. It's no surprise as he was instantaneously talented in almost everything he tried since he was a child.
While anything that makes you feel good brings him joy, his favorite thing to do is to eat you out with your knees forced against your chest, his big hands holding your thighs back and apart.
Yoriichi desperately wants you to praise him, caress his hair and tell him how good he's doing. He's not the type to air out his kinks but it's painfully obvious he has a thing for praise.
He assumes that since he enjoys it, you should enjoy it too. Yoriichi may be quiet but he'll often compliment you, voice barely above a whisper as he gently kisses down your jaw.
Yoriichi is definitely a big tummy guy. He'll cuddle into your stomach like a pillow and pepper kisses down to your hips.
He's really quite vanilla (sorry guys) but he does have a thing for breeding.
He always knew he wanted a nice, big family with lot's of kids. Yoriichi is positive he can provide for one, as well. He understands it's his sworn duty to protect you and your children.
He'd never force you into it, but there's a certain way his eyes light up when you ask him to come in you that's just undeniably sweet.
That being said, his favorite position is a mating press where he can hold your hand and ensure that you will carry his children.
Sometimes Yoriichi can forget his strength and you'll wake up with bruises from where his fingers were held against you. He'll apologize profusely and make sure to kiss them better. He feels awful for hurting you even if it was on accident so you'll have to reassure him that it's okay.
On the flip side, he doesn't really care if you're rather rough with him. He's a powerful swordsman so nothing ever really hurts. In fact, he'll encourage you to pull on his hair and leave deep, purple lovebites all over his neck.
Sometimes he forgets they're there and just goes out into public with his hickeys on full display. It's not like he minds though, he enjoys the fact that others know his devotion to you.
Yoriichi's aftercare is seriously the best. He cuddles you and presses kisses to all the bruises he left, his hand cupping your cheek and lovingly looking into your eyes.
If you have trouble walking the next day, (which is likely) he'll eagerly assist you by either letting you lean onto him or just simply picking you up. He's strong enough to carry you everywhere without tiring.
If he does manage to get you pregnant, Yoriichi will spend every single day by your side attending to your needs. He hates having to leave you alone so he's never gone for long. He may look like a big, scary guy, but to you he's simply the love of your life.
:
Hey could you tell I really really really like Yoriichi? Anywho, work has seriously been punching me in the gut so I apologize for my slow updates. I hope you've all had a nice day and that you enjoy these headcanons! <3

Her head throbbed.Ā
A low insistent poundingĀ that seemed to pulse in time with the erratic thudding of her heart. Sound came first. A high pitched steady ring like a thousand crickets in a tin box. The darkness her mind swam in was dizzying as it was pitch black. Yuu tried to open her eyes but the lids felt glued shut, heavy like she hadn't slept for a month. All she could see was darkness all around her.
Where was she? What happened? Her mind struggled to register what happened before this. She remembered there was..a chocolate milkshake. Then her cousin and herself goofing off by dressing up as cartoon characters.
Move! Her instincts were telling her which her brain was sluggish and slow to do.
Her brain issued the command, but her limbs ignored it. Lying heavy and cold. Panic flared, sharp and sudden.Ā Where?Ā The last thing she remembered was the screech of tires, the smell of burnt rubber, and the sight of that truck swerving. Her body flinched against whatever brushed against her face. Slowly, fighting the inertia, she forced her eyelids to crack open. A blurry world was what greeted her with her along with a bright light that made her groan and shift her head away from whatever it was closing her eyes again. Gods above. Her head was KILLING her! But other than her massive headache, she didn't feel any pain...Had she missed the truck and just hit her head? She tried to sit up but a dull wave of nausea rolled over her stomach and immediately stopped just laying on her back with her arm swung over her eyes. Settled back down, waiting for the world to stop spinning.
Letting her body slowly adjust instead of trying to force herself to be ok, feeling started to return. Bit by bit. She was laying on something solid but also kinda soft to the touch, the fingers on her other hand clenched around them and she instantly felt the familiar feeling of blades of grass coursing through her fingers. She was on her cousin's apartment building's lawn, that means the truck missed her. Oh thank goodness. She must've jumped out of the way in time but hit her head on the way down or something. But why was it so quiet? Shouldn't there be people panicking or yelling or something like that? Maybe they were in shock or her head was still numb to any sounds other than her own. Slowly she removed the elegant blue silk sleeve with the white orchids away from her face blinking at the light, slowly adjusting to it as the dizziness slowly finally slipped away.
What she was met with was a perfectly blue sky and fluffy white clouds.Ā
Her eyes blinked a little more before she hissed, turning her head slowly to the right trying to ignore the pounding headache..before she paused. Wide open fields was what she was met with. Pain forgotten in the moment, she bolted right up sitting up in an empty field of flowers and grass. Her head stared in the right direction for a long, long time seeing nothing but empty open fields with a few scattered houses here and there with a few crop fields next to them. Her eyes stared at them for a long, long time before her head slowly turned a half circle around her to the left, finding more and more fields until it ended with a forest in the distance. Then she looked right behind her finding the same thing. Yuu stared at everything for a long moment taking it in before blinking and shaking her head but everything stayed the same.
"Where the hell am I?"
There was no answer as she just continued to sit there on soft grass with her head violently throbbing for a long, confused, silent moment...Before she looked at her lap, then held out her hands to look at her arms, and then looked at her feet. Yuu didn't seem to be harmed. No broken bones. No blood. It didn't seem like she had any kind of scratch. Besides her pounding headache and the fact her body felt like it was on pins and needles as if most of her body fell asleep, she seemed to be perfectly fine. Her hands gently reached to pat her head searching for any goosebumps or blood, but also found nothing.
"Anyone get the number of that truck?", she spoke a little louder again looking around for anyone. "Alright, Everyone. Haha! Very funny. Good prank. Someone come tell me what the hell is going on!?"
No one still answered her. No one jumped out from hiding places saying sike and laugh at playing a cruel prank of driving her unconscious body out to the countryside and leaving her to wake up outside in a random field. She didn't get this prank. Who found this funny!? Where was her cousin?! She was just standing in her driveway just a few seconds ago.Ā
"Akiko?!" Her eyes scanned around the area not seeing her cousin.Ā
What the hell was going on!? Where was she?! How did she get here?! Yuu slowly turned reaching over and getting herself on her hands and knees before slowly beginning to push herself up to stand. It was hard to do in the tight kimono she wore, but she managed to get on her two feet. Wobbling a little bit in the zori sandals she still wore before regaining her balance on the pins and needles feeling legs and finally being able to look around properly. Yuu once again looked around looking lost and desperate. Nothing looked familiar. Where was she? How long has she been out!? Looking up at the sky, she realized with horror that it looked like the sun had just literally risen. Morning. It was morning and she just woke up in a field!
Ok. Ok. Think. It was around noon when she dove out of the way of a truck and knocked herself out apparently, that means she's been out for half a day and a whole night at least. What had happened in that time!? This was clearly going too far with some prank! Yuu almost got killed by a damn truck!! She was going to have to ask her cousin for an explanation, but first she had to get home. How? Her head again looked around until her eyes landed on the nearest small house in the distance. She didn't want to bother strangers but she needed to ask them to use her phone to call a taxi or something. This kimono was pretty but it was starting to get annoying wearing it and these sandals were uncomfortable with these socks. Yuu's first few steps were wobbling but soon she was quickly jogging, or walking as quickly as she could in uncomfortable Taisho era recreated sandals and a tight kimono hugging her body.Ā
A breeze blew long black hair behind her as she continued to uncomfortably wobble-jog her way across the wide field and towards the small house. At least she wouldn't get too hot. Her footsteps thudded against the grass as she approached the house, quickly noticing in front of her was a dirt road with some rocks and weeds growing in patches here and there. Crossing it, she finally stopped for breath, hands on her knees. She was going to ask Akiko to loosen the tightness of this dam dress around the waist and legs. She gasped for air as she looked around the area before her. The house was one of those one story one bedroom houses that she'd seen out of those old black and white photos in her family album of her great great grandparents and in history books at school. That was weird. Her hand reached out to run along one of the wooden walls. Guess some old houses still existed way out in the country side where some people preferred to love away from cities.
Her eyes moved from the wall of the house to the wide tilled field looking like something had been planted in it. Yuu's never been to a farming community but this seemed to be a little small for that. Maybe it was a personal garden? Whatever. She needed a phone. Not a potato. She started walking around the small home looking for a doorbell or door to knock but she didn't find anything except for a sliding door. Really odd. How was someone supposed to defend against burglars if they didn't have a lock on their door? Eventually she just reached out and knocked on the door loud and hard, and stepped back waiting. Oh she really hoped someone was home, she really didn't want to walk ALL the way to the next house over in these sandals that were already hurting her feet. To her relief she heard footsteps approach, and a moment later the door opened. What she saw had her take a step back and blink.
Orange eyes stared down at her as the door was opened slowly and she was face to face with a middle aged woman. The woman stared down at her looking confused at the other woman standing before her. "....Who are you?"
Yuu stared at her. Not because she was a stranger, but because she was dressed in the oldest old timey clothes she'd ever seen. A green yukata and wooden sandals as she stared down at Yuu. Yuu looked past her seeing movement and was astonished to find three children inside also wearing old fashioned clothes. Two small girls with eyes and brown hair like the woman, obviously twins wearing matching yukatas, and a teenage boy wearing hakama pants and a haori shirt. All three looked up from eating, the smells of cooked white rice and some kind of meat washed over her in waves from the inside of the house which looked like it was also taken from a historical picture of an old timey house.Ā
Were they some kind of Amish??
"I-..." She shook her head looking back up to her. "I'm sorry for bothering you-" She held up her hands. "-but I just woke up in that field over there and-" Her fingers pointed the way she came from. "-I just REALLY want to go home. Can I borrow your phone so I can call me an Ober?"
The woman still stared at her, brows scrunching like she just spoke a completely different language to her. "I'm....not sure what you are speaking of."
"A phone?" It was her turn to scrunch her brows. "You know? You use it to text and call people with? I need to borrow one so I can get home. Please."
She still looked completely confused. "I am not sure what a...phone? Is. But I can't help you with what you're trying to find."
"How do not know what a phone is? Everyone's got one-..*sigh*" She reached a hand up to rub her face. Her head was still throbbing from the headache. "Alright. Nevermind. Can I use your laptop or tablet instead? I can order one that way."
"Young lady, are you alright?" The woman looked more and more concerned and confused. "You speak in tongues."
"No, I'm not! I nearly got run over by a truck!" Yuu found herself shouting looking at the woman. "And then I woke up all alone in a field and I don't know where I am! All I want is to just go home and forget any of this ever happened! ...Can you please tell me where I am?"
"Our village is just a few miles away from the bottom of the Hidaka mountains." Her head turned up as did Yuu's, and Yuu froze as the distant forms of tall mountains loomed over the horizon.Ā
THE HIDAKA MOUNTAINS!? That was a mountain range in southeastern Hokkaido, Japan. She didn't live anywhere near that! It'd take her literal DAYS to get there even by train! How the hell could she just wake up in a field just outside the Hidaka Mountains in just a day and a half when it was physically impossible to move her that quickly from her last current location!? Unless she was out for longer than she thought. But then how long was she really out for!? Where is everyone!? Where was Akiko!? Why didn't anyone take her to the hospital if she was knocked out!? If Akiko nearly got killed by a truck and was passed out, she'd take her to the nearest hospital without question!?
Something definitely wasn't right.
This was wrong.Ā Really, really wrong.
"Can you tell me how to get to the nearest town?" She paused taking a look around the scattered houses around. "The nearest large town."
The woman still looked concerned but pointed down the dirt road where it disappeared into the distance. Ten miles down the road there's a fork in the road, to the left heads into another village but I have never been there so I can't tell you how far away that is."
"Thanks. Do you know if there's a bus stop or anyone here who has a car?"
Her brow rose. "A ..car?"
"Nevermind. I'll figure it out myself."
She tried to. Her legs carried her to the next closest house finding an old man chopping wood and asked for a phone only to be met with more confusion. The next house she found a father and son using a mule to plow a field which she was confused as she knew there was modern machinery to plow fields now, but she assumed maybe she was in a weird off grid community that didn't like modern society. She asked them also for a phone to call someone or for the nearest bus stop or train station, and she was met with more confusion from the two men and then the son smiled at her.
"A woman shouldn't be traveling all alone especially at night. Why don't you marry me instead and we can settle down together?," he offered which made her lean back both off guard and offended.
"Excuse me? Sir, I don't even know you. People don't just get married to the first single woman they see anymore!"
He looked more confused. "They don't? That's how it's always been done here."
More of a reason to get out of here. Last thing she needed was to be kidnapped and forced to marry someone in a remote village she'll never be heard from again. Nope! NO NO NO!! HELL NO!! That's the start of some cult-murder-kidnapping documentary on TV that she did NOT want to be a part of! She'll figure it out by herself and avoid the weirdos here. They can keep it! Yuu finally realized this was some dire situation instead of a massively over done prank where everyone was nineteenth century Japan reenactors in convincing cosplay just to trick her. Whelp. The first thing she had to do was get to the nearest town, from there there ought to be at least one phone she could use to call for help. When she got back Akiko and whoever else was involved with this was going to be so DEAD!!! Especially whoever was fucking driving that truck!! With sore feet and a sore head still, she began the long walk down the dirt road and towards the nearest town. Ten miles down the road and then turn left for who knows how many more miles.Ā
Gods her feet were killing her just thinking about it.
But she started towards down the road anyways, walking along the dirt path and away from the small scattered patch of farm houses she woke up next to. The woman wondered how exactly far in the country she was, hopefully not too far from the nearest town with a phone. It was still really early in the morning so she should have a good head start.Ā
So here she was walking down the road with a pounding headache, her feet sore from these uncomfortable wooden sandals, and still so angry and confused about what the hell is going on around her. All the questions from before still swirled about in her mind like a music video on loop. Where was she? Why was she here? What was going on? Where was everyone? Why wasn't she in the hospital? How long really was she out? How did she get there? Why didn't anyone know what the hell a phone or bus was? And why the hell was everyone looking like and living like they walked out of a history book?? And on and on. She just couldn't wrap her head aroundit all. Yuu didn't even recognize where she was. Sure she never went near the Hidako mountains but it'd be nice if there was a sign on the side of the road or something that told her where she was! Yuu walked..and walked...and walked until she groaned stopping at the side of the road to sit on the grass and pull off the sandals, hands rubbing her sore feet. What frustrated her the most was that she didn't even get that far, and she could still see the mountains in the distance. Yuu needed to get walking more so reluctantly she placed the stupid things back on and went back to walking along the road.Ā
With each step she took, she went further and further but this was bound to take her forever.Ā
The woman continued walking and walking as the sun slowly passed overhead into the middle of the sky and she had absolutely no idea if she'd even be able to get to the fork in the road before the sun went down. Perhaps Buddha or some divine God was listening to her because on the side of the road as she was walking at some point was another old timey house and a small dirt drive leading from it to the main dirt road she was walking on. An old man with a donkey pulled cart full of burlap sacks in the back was starting to slowly pull from the house and only the road. With a sudden idea, she quickly hiked up the bottom of her silk kimono and picked up the pace.
"WAIT!! HELLO THERE!!", she called out which worked because the old man pulled back on the reigns and turned around towards the yelling. She must've looked utterly ridiculous tripping over herself running like a drunk duck in these stupid sandals, but she wasn't about to let this opportunity to get a free ride go to waste! She waved a full arm at him. "Please wait a second!" By the time she even got to the back of the cart she was panting and her feet hurt worse from tripping over the SOLID WOOD things and hitting her toes in the process.
"Eh?...You seem to be out of sorts there for a young lady in fine silks," the man commented looking her up and down probably dumbfounded as to why she'd be stumbling her way down a road.Ā
Yuu waved a hand at him. "Y-Yeah. I've...noticed." He was also pretty weird for wearing old clothes and using a donkey to pull a cart instead of using a pick up truck. She slowly looked back up at him once she caught her breath. "Hey. D-Do you have..a phone I can use?"
"A what?"Ā
Not this again!! She groaned hanging her head again. Was he so old that he never even heard of a phone!? "Nevermind. Forget I asked." She looked back up. "Can I ask where you're heading?"Ā
His head nodded towards the path up ahead. "To sell my goods to the people in the next village over."
"Can I get a ride? Please? I'm trying to get there and my feet are killing me. A ride would be very much appreciated."
He hummed looking her up and down as if calculating if she was a thief or something, before nodding in agreement. "Alright. Although I should warn you I won't get there until near sundown tomorrow."
She sighed in relief. "Thanks a lot. You're doing me a huge favor."
Yuu agreed (a long free ride was better than none-) and hopped onto the back of the wagon and plopped herself on what felt like bags of beans or dry corn before he whipped the reigns and made the mule start off again. The ride throughout that day was mostly quiet but Yuu appreciated it that way. She removed her sandals and socks for a little while to relieve her aching feet much to the raised brow of the old man but he didn't say anything. Night fell and with no signs of the man stopping the mule you fell asleep leaned against the bags. The next day was even warmer, and it was then Yuu noticed the thick, dense woods. She'd never seen a forest like this before. Were they near a national park or something?
"I've never seen a forest like this before."
"If you're smart, you'll never go in there alone."
You blinked at the old man's warning but didn't pay it too much attention. It was a beautiful day. The sun rays shone down upon the world as the calm quiet woods sounded with the life of birds and insects happy the sun warmed them from up above. The light shone through the tree leaves as their branches leaned over the road and blocked most of the sunlight, casting long shadows to dance on the old dirt road that only lead further and further down the road. The mule walking the wagon was the only thing interrupting the silence of the silent woods as it walked down the dust path. Her head strained to see the fork in the road that lady told her about- A small bump sent Yuu jostling and reaching a hand over to grab the side of the wagon. When no more bumps came after a few moments she slowly let go and sighed when they didn't fall over.
"You alright back there?," the driver bluntly asked not even taking his eyes off the road. His tone was just bored.
Yuu pushed some hair out of her face and taking a breath. "Y-Yeah. I-I'm ok. Thanks." He didn't answer Yuu back and she sighed, looking back out the at all the trees and other nature scenes. "This forest sure is big."
"It's a bad omen to walk in a forest alone. Our world is small and these woods make up a big chunk of it what land we have in it." Yuu jumped slightly and blinked back at him. He muttered something else under his breath she didn't quite catch, his black eyes seemed almost nervous gazing out at the woods like he was expecting some kind of monster to pop out in front of him and glance back up at you with a almost stern look. "....Some folks say this land is cursed. Cursed for thousands of years."
Ugh. Don't tell her they were superstitious too. "No offense but those things are just fairytales. Y'know. Like how my uncle used to tell me there was a boogeyman under my bed."
"These aren't things that should be joked about, Young Lady. If I had it my way, I'd turn around right here and now and drive back as fast as I could to the safety of my home." His eyes darted back to the brightly lit dirt road and even though it was daytime he acted like it was night time and something would jump out at them at any given second. "B-But lucky for you I need to sell my goods to make a livin'. I've seen things. Strange things. That no one could explain in these very woods."
Your eyes scrunched up in curiosity and perhaps mild confusion at why he was acting so weird. "Like what exactly?"
"Demons! If you look out right now and look around you may or may not see one!" He stated matter of factly and looked around quickly again at the peaceful woods. "It doesn't matter if it's day or night for them. They'll always move around waiting for their victims, but as long as you have faith they'll leave you alone. Oh, nono. They'll creep to the very EDGE of the last tree that begins the forest line and reach out for you I heard. Snatch you up when it's night too. But they'll never fully leave the safety of their dark homes. Just never go into the woods and stay away, and you will always b-be safe. Keep your doors locked at night and pretend you're not home." His voice trembled as his grip on the reigns increased. "May the gods have mercy on the poor souls who don't heed the warnings."
Ooooook. This dude was officially starting to creep her out.
Another moment of silence passed and Yuu temporarily gazed out. She didn't know why but she squinted her eyes out at the forest surrounding them and especially the shadows. There wasn't anyway she was superstitious but looking never- She jumped seeing something move behind a tree, but quickly relaxed when her brain registered it as a deer. The poor thing ran off probably scared from the humans passing through it's home and she sighed. Demons. And she supposed a magical fairy waving a wand was right around the corner too. Her small smile returned as she looked over to the driver again.
"And I don't suppose there's a kappa in the nearby ponds too is there?" She couldn't help but sound a little amused which still made him irritated.
"This isn't funny! People say these lands were cursed by demons thousands of years ago. Making this place a literal hell on earth!"
"Well. I grew up in a dangerous city and nothing ever bad happened to me," she said smiling back out into the beautiful woods, "I never saw any scary shadows or anything."
"Then you're really lucky young lady." He seemed to almost shudder with his next warning. "If I were you I'd never get anywhere near these cursed places."
"Don't worry about me. I'm not afraid of things that don't exist except in ghost stories and TV shows."
"Mark my words. Nothing good could ever come from being ignorant. Just don't say I didn't warn you, Kid."
She gave a scowl at his back before rolling her eyes. Yeah. Right. And she was Sleeping Beauty waiting for Prince Charming to come kiss her awake with the power of true love like a bad soap opera. The rest of the trip there was rather peaceful except for the man staring at the woods around them with a scared expression every so often until they FINALLY got to a fork in the road and turned left. From their they traveled until the sun started to go down and it started to get darker and darker and darker. The sky began becoming clouded with thick grey clouds until they reached it. A smaller village than the one before.
Oh FINALLY!!
She practically could kiss the mule for getting her here! It was definitely bigger than the last village with at least around thirty of those small houses clustered together and a lot of people walking around, again in more traditional old time-y clothes she noticed once they got closer. Which actually made her pause. Ok.Ā Something definitely super weird was going on.Ā A few small houses in the middle of literal no where being old fashioned and having some people who liked living off grid wasn't too weird. She knew a lot of people lived like that supposedly in Alaska. But a whole town of thirty houses and tons of people looking like they walked out of an ancient textbook?Ā
That wasn't right.Ā
Either she just stumbled onto the biggest reenactment event ever or she hit her head so hard on the fall that this was all just a massive hallucination. The mule continued to pull the cart through town as they passed and she was able to see a lot of things. There was a pair of elderly men playing shogi on an engawa. Some children ran past down the street further kicking a temari ball between each other. A couple walked happily down the street shopping with the woman holding onto her presume boyfriend's arm. Everyone wore everything from yukatas to kimonos to hakamas and everything in between. Where the absolute hell was she?! She's never seen so many people act like it was the eighteen hundreds. Yuu looked around at everyone before looking at the old man still driving the cart.
"Hey. What's the big deal here?" He hummed tilting his head. "Why is everyone dressed up like it's the Heian period?"Ā
"Don't be ridiculous. The Heain period ended almost seven hundred thirty years ago."
Actually it was closer to nine hundred thirty. This guy was off by about a hundred thirty years but she wasn't about to argue with an old man that gave her a free ride. Was there just a whole cult of people that hated modern day life or something she didn't know about? Something wasn't adding up...Actually A LOT of somethings weren't adding up. The old man kept going until he pulled the mule back to a stop in front of what looked like an old fashioned grocery store. Yuu slowly got off careful to not tear the stupid cosplay she was still wearing thanking the old man for the ride.
"Where will you go now if you don't mind me asking?"
Yuu gestured around her. "To look for a phone. There's gotta be one around here somewhere."
His brow rose higher at her in confusion. "Young people these days are so confusing. Back in my day, we didn't use such language."
"Yeah. Well if I can't find a phone here then I'll just walk all the way back to the city or until I get to a dam bus stop."
"Still traveling by yourself? That's dangerous for a young lady all alone...A word of warning for you. If you are to travel, do so in the daylight and stay away from too shaded areas. Demons will come and eat you if you don't."
Despite the fact that Yuu didn't believe a word he said, his tone made her feel weary. You nodded politely to him however. "I'll think about it. Thanks for the ride."
"Hmph. I see...I bid you good bye then, and good luck. You'll clearly be needing it."
Yeah. That they both can agree on. Because if she can't find a phone here then she was going to have to resort to walking all the way back to the city or until she could find someone to help her. The first place Yuu tried was the 'grocery store' looking shop in front of them that had shelves and bins of different fruits and vegetables. She walked up to the man who looked to be running this place before politely asking-
"Excuse me."
"Yes?" He looked up from where he was counting some wooden bento boxes on a shelf.Ā
"Do you have a phone I can borrow? I need to make an emergency call."
The man just stared at her. "...What is a 'phone'? Is that a type of herb?"
"No. It's a machine you use to call or text or video chat with. You know?" She held her hand to her ear pretending to hold a phone talking to someone. "A telephone."
"Ma'am, I haven't the foggiest idea what on earth you're talking about, but if you need a call-" She looked hopeful as he turned and then that hope died when he gestured to some wooden whistles. "-these are all hand made. This one is great for calling herding dogs! And this one is very popular for hunters hunting ducks."
"That's not what I-...*sigh* Nevermind. Could you direct me to the nearest bus stop?"
He turned back to her confused. "What is a..bus??"
"This again?" Her hand reached up to rub her temples taking in a deep breath through her nose. "Nevermind. Do you know where aĀ train stopĀ is?"
FINALLY his face lit up in realization. "Oh! A train!" He nodded. "I've heard of them but never saw one before."
"Do you know WHERE I can find one?"
"Um. Let me think." He rubbed his chin in thought humming and looking at the ceiling. "...Can't say that I do, but if there was any place with a train station it'd be in bigger towns or near the cities."
So she has to walk even farther. Great. Man she just wanted to go home. "Do you have a map or something?"
By some miracle he DID have THAT, but it was unlike any regular map she's seen. It was hand drawn on old looking parchment paper with ink and she did NOT recognize a thing. Not the names of the roads, or the small few towns there even was on this tiny ass map, or even the giant..pond?? She looked at the thing before looking back up to him confused.
"Is this it? I don't recognize anything on this thing!"
"Well it is just of the surrounding villages. If you want something bigger you'll have to go elsewhere."
"Don't you have a newer map instead of something as ancient as my grandma's wedding dress?"
He frowned and pointed at her. "Hold your tongue, Woman! I'll have you know that this map was printed just last year so it's up to date!"
She rolled her eyes. "And what year was that?" When dinosaurs still walked into the pub for a coffee?
"Nineteen eighteen for your information! My brother travels all over these roads again and again and drew this map himself!", he said matter of factly.
Yuu paused staring at him wide eyed. Before blinking. Nineteen eighteen!? That was even before her own grandpa was born! Did this guy smoke something or get drunk? Or maybe he was dropped as a child? "Um. I don't know if you've noticed, but we're living in twenty twenty six. I don't know what everyone's been telling you guys-"
"If you're not going to buy anything-" He scowled and pointed out the door. "-then I think it's best you leave and stop wasting both of our time! I won't stand here and be belittled by some crazed woman!"
"Excuse me!? I-.." She scoffed dropping the 'map' back on the counter holding up her hands. She wasn't about to argue with a crazy person, it was a loosing battle. "You know what? Fine. I'm leaving. I'm getting really tired of people acting crazy around me anyways."
Yuu left before the guy tried shooting at her with an old time musket next or a katana. What was with these people. They believed they were in nineteen eighteen! The Taisho era. That was ridiculous! How could a whole community of people be deluded into thinking they were living in an era even before her grandpa was born?! It literally made NO SENSE the more and more she asked around. She tried what looked like a bakery next. No phone. Didn't know what a bus stop was. A really old looking bathhouse. No phone. Didn't know what a taxi was. A legit blacksmith. A few homes. Someone running a soap shop. No one had a clue to what anything she was talking about was!! They all looked at her like she was speaking an entirely different language or something which made her frustrated.Ā
Worst was that it was now dark.
The old man wasn't lying when he said she'd get there when it was near sundown. Yuu arrived when the sun was just starting to set, and her running around trying to get SOME kind of help took up more time than she realized because now it was nighttime. People were starting to head home and close up their stores. The limited lights from the windows was starting to dwindle as people closed shutters and blew out candles. Great! The previous night she wasn't alone and at least got to sleep on an uncomfortable few bags of corn or something. Where was she supposed to stay?Ā
"Excuse me, Sir!" She managed to grab one man's shoulder as he was hurrying home who turned to give her a dirty look. "Do you know where a hotel is?"
"A what?!"
Again. Ok. Quick. What was the old time equivalent of a hotel?? "Inn. I meant an inn. Do you know where I can find the local inn?"
"Our town has no inn!" He forcibly knocked her hand off him. "What woman dares put her hands on a man!? Your father should beat some sense into you!"
She leaned back shocked before scowling as the man hurried off. Well misogyny was pretty rampant and culturally present still in the Taisho Era. If these idiots thought they were still there then that'd explain that jackass's behavior. But that was the least of her problems. This town didn't have any hotel, and on top of that Yuu didn't have no money. So where the hell was she supposed to stay tonight? On someone's porch or something? She shivered looking up at the moon starting to rise as the last bit of daylight finally slipped away over the horizon, everyone leaving the streets empty and bare leaving only the woman standing there.Ā
Then the first rumble of thunder came from the thick clouds above making her jump and snap her head up, the wind blowing her hair.Ā
It was going to rain as well. It was like she had stepped into a really bad rom-com, or a really bad horror movie where 'the damsel and helpless first victim' of the movie gets killed at the beginning before it cuts to a scene of the police investigating the murder and kicking off the true beginning of the movie. Yuu shivered instinctively pulling the long baggy sleeves against her more looking around the dark houses. She didn't want to be caught in a storm surrounded by crazy people.
So she quickly jogged, or tried to with the sandals and tight kimono she wore making it very difficult to move fast. She hoped she didn't run into a stray dog with rabies or something! Wobbling her way down the main street it seemed as she passed by houses and shops all with their lights out and doors and windows tightly shut. It was very creepy especially for someone being all alone and having no idea of the situation she had found herself in. The farther she stepped, the farther she slowly went until she was finding herself stepping out of the town and down the dirt road.
Soft skin littered in goosebumps as she walked, each step echoing with a wooden thud from her shoes as Yuu walked. Hands rubbed her arms against the wind as the air felt like it dropped twenty degrees in the darkness with the thunder taunting her overhead. She could barely see in front of her as she walked, but she managed to make out something in the distance. It was the sounds of running water. With a squint Yuu managed to make out the black mass of a river running before her, the dirt road temporary stopping and turning into a wooden bridge for others to cross before resuming it's dirty form. Her sore feet carried her onwards towards the bridge. The first step she took let out a bigger wood on wood thud from her zori sandals which made her jump at the first sound.Ā
Not only did the bridge make the sound from her sandals louder but it also echoed under the bridge and with it being so quiet at night, it made it seem even louder. It sent a bad shiver through her body, however she continued on trying to take softer steps to not make that big of a sound in case there was any hungry wild animals nearby looking for a helpless snack. The sounds were still echoing out as she walked on this old creaking bridge. The echoes were so loud that it sounded like someone else was walking on the bridge with her. On instinct she stopped-
The footsteps continued.
Yuu froze. Her body encased within eyes as heavy sounding footsteps continued that shook the old creaky bridge with each step, she could feel the thuds in her own still feet. Instinctually she snapped her head around wide eyed to look behind her but found nothing, so she looked forward. And completely froze up.Ā
There was a man coming towards her from the other side of the bridge.
In the dark, a man approached slowly. His build and height was bigger than her even from far away. Yuu didn't move or breath as he got closer and closer. Her wide eyes could barely make him out in the dark but what Yuu could make out was traditional clothes being blown around in the wind and that he was definitely tall. About six foot something if she had to guess. His head was a triangle like shape which confused her for a moment until he got near the middle of the bridge and she realized he wore a straw kasa hat on his head. Some thunder sounded off above them both as he continued towards her. Her own footsteps echoed as she moved from the center to the right side of the bridge out of his way, as he now was a few feet away from her. Her eyes widened at the most unusual sight she had seen thus far.
A...cosplay?
Her brows furrowed in absolute bewilderment seeing a man in full blown demon slayer cosplay just randomly walking across a bridge towards her. Not just any cosplay either.
Why was this guy dressed up as Kokushibo?
Yuu didn't believe it at first as he neared passing her, and it was REALLY hard to see in the dark, but she was able to make out the very, very detailed cosplay. Purple and black checkered haori, the tan hakama pants, the same white socks and zori sandals from the anime- Even his HAIR was on point as the wind blew the long burgundy ponytail in the breeze. He even had a sword just like Kyokokukamusari. From the looks of it, he worked really hard on it. But what was so confusing was why was there a cosplayer in the middle of no where at night? Was there an event somewhere? Was this town and everything she experienced some big reenactment event or something? She watched him and he said nothing as he got close. Didn't even look at her as he started to pass by, his face hidden by the hat. But not squinting at his face, it looked like he had inked Kokushibo's chin patterns onto his bottom neck and chin there. That was some dedication.
But againĀ whyĀ would a random man in Kokushibo cosplay be out hereĀ in the middle of no whereĀ at nightĀ andĀ withoutĀ an umbrella or something with a stormĀ about to rain on them?
Hey. Wait a minute. If he was a cosplayer maybe he had a phone she could borrow or knew what was going on around here! Her hope once again lit up as he was just about to pass her now. Yuu had a bad feeling but swallowed feeling her palms sweaty and throat tight for some reason.
"Um...H-Hello. I re-really like your cosplay. It's really detailed," she stammered a reply as fear loomed over her, "You don't happen to have a phone I can borrow do you? I'm really lost."
He ignored her and said nothing as he began to step to far side of the bridge which she couldn't help but find annoying. Ha! She was right. Any Kokushibo cosplayer was just gonna ignore her in this stupid costume but now was not the time to be 'in character'. Fine then! If he was going to be like that then so was she! She's had enough of this stupid prank!!
"Ignoring me again,Ā Michikatsu?"
T H U D-
The tall man stopped just beside her. His body unmoving and suddenly rigid. Oh? Was he not expecting a 'Haruhime' cosplayer to call him out after she asked him nicely for a phone? She was really sick of these men! She didn't even look at him. Staring straight ahead with a scowl.
"You haven't changed have you? No. I guess no oneĀ like youĀ will." What was it with men and women in her life and being complete heartless assholes!? Her parents! Her 'best friend'! Her 'fiance'! Her grandparents! And now it even seems her cousin was trying to pull some kind of stupid, stupid prank. And now all these Dam strangers who did even know her at all!!
"...How do you know that name?"
Yuu flinched back a moment caught off guard. Oh wow. He soundsĀ exactlyĀ like Kokushibo in the dam freaking anime! That actually took her totally off guard because..well he looked exactly like Kokushibo just waltzed on out of the manga but she wasn't exactly expecting him to also SOUND like the demon samurai. How long did he even practice that for?! That was actually some very scary dedication, and for some reason the dreaded feeling in her stomach doubled. Something was almost wrong about him.
"Why wouldn't I know it?" She turned to look at him kinda shocked to find him facing her but the hat was blocking his entire face except the beginning of his chin, and without the moonlight she couldn't see his eyes. "After all the last time we saw each other was when you abandoned your wife with your children to pursue a selfish dream."
The man didn't say anything. Didn't move. And it made her even more frustrated that he wasn't literally doing anything.
"That and I read his entire life in the manga," she confessed breaking character. "I must say, you're very dedicated to your character. I admit I wasn't expecting you to sound like I remember-"
"Impossible."Ā He interrupted her however the voice dropped in volume. Almost a whisper.Ā "Who are you?"
She blinked raising a brow. Did this dude not recognize her cosplay? She thought he was supposed to be a dedicated fan, which made this all the more weirder. "Um. I'm Haruhime." She slowly pointed at him. "You remember? The wife? I mean...Goutage never really gave her a cannon name or face but my cousin thought it'd be fun to cosplay together as the wives." He still stood still not speaking. Oh. That's probably not what he met. "Alright. My name is Yu-"
"It can't be."Ā
Thunder rolled across the sky making her jump and look up feeling a droplet on her shoulder. Oh no! It was starting to rain-
"The last time I saw you, you were buried under red spider lilies."
Her attention snapped back to him as the rain continued to poor down, on instinct her arms reached up to shield her face from the water starting to fall. A hand of his reached to push up the kasa from his face just as lightning cracked across the sky, and she saw it clearly. Six eyes staring down at her from the darkness of the shadow beneath the straw hat. All seemed to be staring at her but-...That was impossible! If the other two pairs of eyes were fake, then they would've just been painted on or plastic realistic looking ones taped onto him, and all pointed in some direction.Ā
Not all pointed at her at once.Ā
"...How are you doing that? Are they motion sensor activated?" She stared at the face staring down at her, a white strap keeping the hat tied to his head against the wind. Her body getting soaked against the rain but Yuu didn't notice among the sudden fear in her body. "Wait. What do you mean I was buried?!"
Yuu took a step back, her back stopped by the bridge rails. This man..he was dangerous! She didn't know why or how but- Yuu froze as all six eyes blinked, intensely following her movements.
Paint doesn't blink. Props don't fucking blink!!
"Oh my God..." Her voice trembled and a horrific realization crashed into her in one terrible, horrible strike like a knife through her heart.Ā "You're real."
Six eyes stared at her. Splayed directly across the middle pair was 'Upper One'. Lightning struck once again lighting up all those horrible features of the demon in front of her who now turned to face her, a look of rare emotion across his face as he stared at her as if he was seeing a ghost for the first time in his life.
"As are you it would seem. Never have... I considered this possibility to cross my path."Ā He took one step. It was only one but he was looming over her in an instant.Ā "Your soul is earth born once more. Wife."
A hand reached out for her face, towards her arms still above her head to shield her- SLAP!! His hand didn't even budge from it's spot as Yuu's body reacted of it's own accord. Slapping his hand away, and then running.
TAISHO SECRETS:
-The Hidako Mountains is a real mountain region in Japan.
-The actual time between the Heain and Taisho periods is 727 years.Ā
-VOCAB-
HEAIN Period: The Heian period (å¹³å®ę代, Heian jidai) is the last division of classical Japanese history, running from 794 to 1185.
Shogi: Shogi (å°ę£), or Japanese chess, is a two-player board game where players move wedge-shaped pieces on a 9x9 grid, aiming to checkmate the opponent's king, with its unique feature being the ability to "drop" captured pieces back onto the board as your own, creating dynamic, shifting battles unlike Western chess. Pieces have kanji symbols, and direction (pointing towards opponent) denotes ownership; captured pieces are flipped and reused, making it a strategic game with no luck involved.
Engawa: Engawa (ēøå“) has two main meanings in Japanese: a wooden veranda or porch on a traditional Japanese house that connects indoors and outdoors, and a delicacy from the fin muscle of a flatfish (flounder), prized for its unique chewy/crunchy texture and rich flavor, often served as sushi or sashimi. The architectural feature provides a transition space to enjoy gardens, while the fish delicacy offers a distinct culinary experience.
Yukata: A yukata is a casual, lightweight Japanese robe, essentially a simpler, unlined version of a kimono, traditionally made from breathable cotton and worn in summer for festivals, relaxing at hot springs (ryokan), or as a comfortable bathrobe after bathing. It's known for its ease of wear, vibrant patterns, and cultural significance as an iconic part of Japanese summer attire, worn without the layers or formal accessories of a traditional kimono.
Kimono: A kimono is Japan's traditional T-shaped, straight-seamed robe, worn wrapped left over right and secured with a wide sash (obi), symbolizing Japanese culture and worn for special occasions like weddings, tea ceremonies, and festivals, though modern versions are adapted for casual wear too. Made from silk or cotton with intricate patterns reflecting seasons and status, it's a versatile garment with deep cultural meaning, distinct from its simpler cotton cousin, the yukata.
Hakama: Hakama pants are traditional, wide-legged Japanese trousers with deep pleats, historically worn by samurai for horseback riding and later adopted in martial arts (Kendo, Aikido) and formal wear, featuring a fitted waist, a trapezoidal backplate (koshi-ita), and distinctive ties, representing virtues like loyalty and courage through their pleats, and now also appearing in modern fashion
Temari Ball: Temari (ę毬), which are traditional Japanese embroidered thread balls, evolving from children's toys into intricate folk art symbolizing good luck and friendship, made by wrapping yarn around a core and creating beautiful geometric designs with colorful threads, often with a bell inside. These are different from temari sushi, which are ball-shaped rice dishes, or the actual flooring (tatami mats).
Bento: A bento is a Japanese-style, single-portion, packed meal, typically consisting of rice or noodles, protein (fish/meat/egg), and vegetables, all neatly arranged in a compartmentalized box for a convenient, balanced, and visually appealing meal, often eaten at room temperature. It's a cultural tradition of portable food, varying from simple home-packed lunches (like kyaraben with cute characters) to gourmet options from shops.
Kappa: A Kappa is a mischievous, child-sized amphibious yÅkai (spirit/demon) from Japanese folklore, known as a "river child," with a turtle shell, duck-like beak, webbed limbs, and a water-filled dish on its head that is the source of its power, often depicted as a mix of human, turtle, monkey, and duck, known for loving cucumbers, wrestling, and potentially pulling people into rivers.
Zori Sandals: Zori (ććć) are traditional Japanese flat sandals, similar to thong sandals, with a split strap (hanao) that goes between the big toe and the second toe, designed to be worn with or without split-toe tabi socks. Originally made from woven rice straw, they now come in materials like cloth, leather, rubber, or synthetic fabrics, and are used for both everyday wear with kimono and martial arts, offering a blend of tradition, comfort, and practicality.
Kasa: A Kasa (ē¬ ) is a traditional Japanese woven hat, often conical or wide-brimmed, made of straw, bamboo, or other materials, used by many people, including samurai, for sun/rain protection and anonymity, with specific types like the Jingasa (war hat) for samurai or Sandogasa for travelers (ronin) signifying their role or status through style and crests. Samurai wore various kasa, especially Jingasa (lacquered/iron helmets) and the wandering Sandogasa, blending practicality with social signaling.
i dont even care about 'haruhime,' so why am i making headcannons?
i shouldn't even have to warn you guys but out of the kindness of my heart, i will. note that none of these are cannon--due to the fact that we know nothing about this 'haruhime,' why not give her some unnecessary character?
VERY strict parents. and I mean the kind of parents (during that time) who cared more about public image rather than loving their daughter normally +they were significantly wealthy.
'haruhime' and her father did NOT get along at all. her father saw her more as a reflection of his household rather than his daughter. since she was the eldest and meant to mirror her mother, everything she did was judged as "proof" of whether the family was respectable or failing. if she were to make one mistake, she would be deemed an insult to her name.
her mother was, for the most part, distant and shut-off. but she wasn't entirely uncaring. its likely that the mother underwent the same thing which is why she's emotionally withdrawn and couldn't really support 'haruhime' the way she could have.
'haruhime' is actually a serious person (and a bit rebellious--sometimes, she would even skip her lessons just to spite). but deep down, she could be a sweetheart. she just chooses to appear cold-hearted to not attract any attention.
(self-explanatory) 'haruhime's' marriage with michikatsu began mostly as a duty with the purpose of keeping the bloodline strong and moving.
neither michikatsu or 'haruhime' hated each other--they actually grew to respect one another +they had their similarities relating to legacy pressures.
she was EXTREMELY perceptive (like in a scary way). she knew that something was off the minute michikatsu arrived back from his sudden attack. though she's not the "confronting" type.
when michikatsu left her and the kids, she went through a myriad of stages. waiting, denial, and finally realization. when she understood that he'd never come back, the air of coldness reaches her. she becomes more structured, emotionally distant, demanding of composure, and her relationship with her kids disintergrates.
she began to act more like the one man she despised most--her father. and pushes her sons the same way she was once pushed. not that she hated her kids--she could never--but it's complicated if you're a single mother taking over both parent roles. she pushes them because shes afraid that they'll fail or be consumed the way michikatsu was. unfortunately, she did see a bit of michikatsu within them.
symbolically, she becomes what she endured. not because she failed, but because the role was planted onto her twice.

A human, chosen by Muzan himselfānot for your strength, nor for your ability to fight, but for something far worse. You were intelligent, your mind sharper than a blade, a rare jewel in a world of fleeting mortals. And so, Muzan decided you would serve him, whether you wished to or not.
Refusing was not an option.
You had seen it beforeāthe way he silenced those who defied him, the effortless way his hand would pierce through flesh, the cold, absolute dominance in his gaze. And so, you obeyed.
You became a researcher, working within the Infinity Castleāan ever-shifting maze of corridors and towering walls, filled with demons who feasted on human flesh. They were monstrous, merciless⦠but none dared to touch you. Not when Muzan had made his decree.
And so, you worked.
Day after day, you collected samplesāblood, flesh, anything that could bring Muzan one step closer to true immortality. You studied the demons, their abilities, their weaknesses, searching for an answer buried within their cursed bodies.
One of them was Kokushibo.
He terrified you.
Six eyes, each one watching you with an intensity that sent shivers down your spine. His gaze was unreadable, cold, as if he could see straight through your soul. His long, clawed fingers looked sharp enough to slice through bone, and his presence alone made the air feel heavy, suffocating.
You never had to look to know he was thereāyou could feel it. His aura was suffocating, pressing down on you like a silent threat before you even turned around.
And yet⦠he kept coming back.
At first, he was silent. He would watch as you worked, as if trying to understand what it was you were doing. You never spoke to him beyond what was necessary, keeping your distance like one would from a wild beast.
But then, he started speaking.
Simple words at firstāquestions about your work, about what you sought to uncover. His voice was deep, smooth, yet it carried an eerie stillness, as if he chose each word with meticulous care.
Then, more personal questions.
"Do you fear me?"
The first time he asked, you hesitated. Because the answer was yes.
But instead, you replied, "Should I?"
His lips barely twitchedāperhaps amusement, perhaps something else. "That depends," he said. "You are fragile. Humans break easily."
It wasnāt a warning. It was a fact.
And yet, he never hurt you. Never raised a hand against you, never let those deadly claws come near. You wondered if it was because of Muzan's ordersāor something else.
Over time, his visits became more frequent.
You found yourself expecting him, your heartbeat quickening when you felt that familiar, suffocating presence. His questions grew deeper, his presence lingering long after his words had faded.
Something about him unnerved you. But at the same time⦠something about him fascinated you.
A demon, yet unlike the others. A man who had abandoned his humanity, yet still held traces of something more.
And in the shifting shadows of the Infinity Castle, you realizedā
He was watching you, too.
Closely.
Carefully.
And perhaps, just like you⦠he was beginning to wonder why.
Art drop! šØ This piece took me two full days, but Iām really happy with how it turned outāI hope you guys like it! Itās another Kokushibo (because clearly I canāt get enough of him š¹āØ). After a long session of training, he promises to *āpunish you nicelyā*⦠Iāll let you wonder what exactly he means by that šš„“š«
I also experimented a bit by making different versions with changes to skin tone. I was tempted to play around with the hair as well, but honestly, my impatience got the better of me this time. Still, I had a lot of fun with this one and canāt wait to hear your thoughts!
