A/N: the fighting scene takes place in the same skating rink as the one from season 2 episode 3. Haven't watched TSSM in a long time, i may forget some details.

Hello, this is Lulu from the future (July 2026)! I actually made this back when I was trying to get back into writing fanfictions but didn't have the motivation to finish any. This is unfinished and I'll probably may or may not update and finish this.

The first day of winter break came. For some reason, you felt... Empty? Is that even the right word to describe how you feel right now?

Well, opinions are subjective. Maybe it is, maybe it isn't.

But the thing is, is that... You're missing someone. You know him through work. He was a few years younger than you, but his mind was that of someone bright and brilliant. He has passion for what he does. Ever since your encounter with him, you guys never leaved eachothers side, always attached to the hip. Due to that, you two spent most weekends together. You two spent holidays together as well.

So imagine to your surprise when one of his friends, Eddie (you two once met (for the sake of this fic), phoned you and said that Max got into an accident. At first, you tried to stay calm. Electrical engineering... It was no easy job. Quite dangerous if you ask me, one wrong move and zap! Turned to a crisp!

So, you thought to yourself that Max was in a minor accident, right? Nothing big, right?

When his friend told you what went wrong, it felt like you were shot in the chest numerous times. He was young, and young people tend to make mistakes in their lives. This one might just ruin his life.

You hung up the phone after you told Eddie that you needed time to think about this.

You woke up the next morning to find news of a weird, electrical alien running through the streets of New York. You knew this was Max, wasn't it obvious that he got into an electrical accident and some electric alien decided to fight Spider-man that same night?

The next day after tomorrow came as well and you founded out that he went to Ravencroft for treatment. You had hope that you'd be able to see him again, and feel his warmth again, only to know that he chose a life of crime. A life of crime... Over his own life. The life where he was Max Dillon.

Max Dillon.

Maxwell Dillon...

The name echoed through your mind. This was your first christmas without him. For the past few years when you were working with him, the two of you would exchange gifts for eachother. Last year, you made him gloves, and he bought you an ugly sweater with Rudolph the Reindeer on the front.

"Isn't that the sweater Max gave you last year?" Your friend, Tina, asked. "Huh? Oh, yeah. It is." You said sheepishly. Tina could only sigh, maybe out of pity, "(Y/N), you need to let go of Max. Just look at him now." You shook your head. "Tina, you know that he's still the Max we know, right?"

"Yeah, the Max we know you love?" Tina asked in a sarcastic tone, yet a slight smirk remained. As for you, your cheeks rose a pink tint. "Love? That's a... Strong word, don't you think?" You asked, chuckling awkwardly as you looked to the side to avoid eye contact with your friend. "Would you stop moping over some criminal? The sea has plenty of fish, he's just a minority."

This time, you didn't reply. You looked at your cup of tea whilst feeling empty. Tina noticed this, she wanted to cheer you up but whatever she does doesn't seem to work for some reason...

Well, there was a skating rink just beside them. Maybe they could go ice skating? But the rink was packed with people, and neither of you have experience in ice skating. It's a guarantee fall for sure.

"How about we hang out at my place?" Tina asked, but before you can reply, a loud bang was heard nearby. People began screaming and ran away from the ice rink.

"Spider-man... Come out to play..." The mysterious fellow called out to his enemy.

"(Y/N), let's get- wait. Is that...?" Tina stopped in her tracks, she looked back to find none other than Max!

"Max!" You exclaimed, surprised to see him in person after a long time. A really, really long time. You stood there, speechless, not knowing what to do. Should you run away? Or should you talk him out of it?

"(Y/N), what are you doing?!" Tina grabbed you by the arm, "It's not safe here, we need to get out of here!" You didn't say anything, you just saw your good friend drifting away from the distance.

But suddenly, something snapped in you and you let go of Tina's grip. "(Y/N)?" She looked back, only to see you running towards the electrical being. You stopped at a safe distance before shouting his name. "Max, you don't have to do this!" You yelled, finally getting his attention. "(Y/N)? I-Is that you?" His eyes widened, all he knows is that Spider-man was in the area, not you!

"Yes, Max, it's me." You said. "Max, you don't have to do this. What would any of this accomplish?" You tried to talk it out to him, but he shrugged it off. "It's none of your business! Get away from me, you'll get hurt!"

"Sorry to interrupt the reunion, but i believe i have some private matters here with Lightning Butt." Spider-man swung into the scene as he began to attack Electro. He ripped off the web from his face before shooting at him, "Why you...!"

"Max, calm down!" You yelled, running towards him. Before you know it, you got shocked out of nowhere!

"(Y/N)?!" Max called out, and he was horrified to see you get electrocuted by his powers.
