December 31, 2017 ✨ A single night, an Eve: a ‘close of day’ in a history of our kind that perhaps began with The Cognitive Revolution (c. 70,000 BCE, when Sapiens evolved imagination). ✨ Like all nights we will, at it’s end, retire, wearied by the events of the day, the month, the year. As our mind becomes distant, or as it awakens we may reflect, ponder, or inquire of ourselves what lies ahead, is there a definitive course we can seek? ✨ Our cultural tradition allows us to proffer this night as a collective commencement… ✨ Captured by the words of T.S. Eliot, in his work: Four Quartets is the spirit of what I hope for all of us in 2018. ✨ For last year's words belong to last year's language. And next year's words await another voice. ✨ May we find • Balance • Creativity • Equanimity • Flexibility • Insight • Strength ✨ Focus on the development of our Souls, Minds, and Bodies as sapient beings in an incomprehensible world. We are small forces of change that can embody the best of what makes us sentient. ✨ May we thrive in ways that enrich all whose lives we touch. ✨ Namaste ✨🌙 #happynewyear #2018 #tseliotquote #yoga (at Ecological Culture Initiative)
