Finally watching the SAG Awards and Taylor really got up on that stage and thanked immigrants but amongst the few she specifically highlighted, she loudly mentioned my country in particular. She said "Dominican Republic" in front of a room of people who are some of my most respected peers in this industry but that usually only recognize my country as a vacation spot instead of a valuable contributor to the entertainment industry. OITNB is a highlight for my people and my island, but beyond that it is a brilliantly written show that made some incredibly powerful and very needed political statements in the last twelve months. Feel free to call me a racist for that and send me a thousand more death threats. I'm not going to stop saying it.

Taylor Schilling is a serious Emmy contender this year imho. If only for episode 8 alone. The scene in the cornfield between Alex, Nicky, and Piper might be one of the best acted in the entire show so far. No doubts.

I didn't have time to properly freak out over Tatiana and Taylor's Golden Globe nominations because I was on my way out to set when I found out, but going down my dash right now and seeing all the reactions I'm definitely having a proud momma moment for some reason. Maybe it is because of how shitty award season was last year for Orphan Black and now Tats is a Golden Globe nominee. Like...ahhh! It's fucking awesome and she deserves every bit of it. Not only is she an actress with more talent than anyone can comprehend, she's also a really fucking dope human. And there's nothing to say about Taylor that hasn't been said already. She's a gem of a human and I'm never going to be able to decide on who deserves it more because there's no winner between the two of them.
