Theory relates to TS7, the lead single and it’s music video and is based off the 1939 film adaptation of The Wizard of Oz story!
2. The bike posted to Taylor’s social media is riding along a YELLOW ROAD!
A yellow road or path is immediately synonymous with the Yellow Brick Road from The Wizard of Oz!
3. When Taylor first posted what appeared to be a pink dress, I thought to myself, “Taylor rarely wears things this pink!!” (I'm pink-obsessed so that’s what I notice). Then I realised it’s inspired by The Wizard of Oz as well!
4. The cloud-like images used in Taylor’s various social media profile pictures and website HAVE to mean something! It is likely that the plot of the music video for the lead single will revolve around A DREAM just like Dorothy had in The Wizard of Oz where she searches for home in her dream:
5. HEARTS: We’ve all seen the COUNTLESS use of hearts and the hearts emojis💗💛over Taylor’s socials over the past few months - this could relate directly to the title of the lead single and ALSO relates to The Wizard of Oz.
Dorothy journeys through Oz with 3 friends she meets along the Yellow Brick Road TM, one of them being the Tin Man who seeks the help of the Wizard to give him a HEART! Dorothy and the Tin Man sing about it in a popular musical number that could very well be a source of inspiration for the lead single’s lyrical content:
The title card at the beginning of The Wizard of Oz refers to the “Young in Heart” over a background featuring cloud imagery:
As stated in point #4 above, Taylor has been using the cloud imagery on her website countdown to April 26 and as her social media profile pictures.
Could ‘Young in Heart’ be the title of the single? Could it be part of the single’s lyrics?
Referring to being young and referring to her youth in the lead single aligns with the existing childhood/home theories and also aligns with the Instagram post featured above where Taylor is holding a photo album of her childhood self at her childhood home in Pennsylvania.
6. The opening scene of The Wizard of Oz:
I’ve included the transcript below for the first half of the opening scene to the film. It seems as though Taylor has often been alluding to this opening scene in her social media posts (including the widely-confusing chicken post!)
It’s important to note that the chickens in Taylor’s Instagram post are baby chicks!
This relates to the opening scene of The Wizard of Oz where Dorothy rushes home to Aunty Em to alert her of Toto (Dorothy’s beloved dog) being hit by Miss Gulch.
The opening scene of The Wizard of Oz is where Aunty Em is counting baby chicks!:
The reason Taylor is drawing our attention to this scene is that this is the scene where Dorothy sings the iconic song, ‘Somewhere Over the Rainbow’!
7. ‘Somewhere Over the Rainbow’ 🌈 became an instant classic when featured in The Wizard of Oz film (1939) and is easily the most popular and most identifiable song from this iconic musical. This is why Taylor has been using rainbow filters on her social media posts, sticking to a rainbow theme on her Instagram and wearing rainbow coloured jewellery!
Taylor is trying to bring our attention to this song so that we will identify The Wizard of Oz theme for the lead single, music video and TS7!
As it turns out, Taylor Nation has been referring to The RainbowTM since New Year’s Day this year!
Many of the clues are leading us to the opening scene and title card of The Wizard Oz because this scene includes the musical’s most iconic song, ‘Somewhere Over The Rainbow’.
The Instagram post of the bike on the yellow road is the biggest clue to the theme of the video given yellow roads are undeniably symbolic of the Land of Oz. Therefore, the music video for the lead single will be The Wizard Of Oz themed and the title of the song will refer to hearts, perhaps, ‘Young at Heart’!
This theory is the one I feel connects so many of the clues posted so far - more than any other theory I’ve considered!!
I love that it completely involves the childhood/home theory that everyone is attached to as well because finding your way back “HOME” is one of the major themes of The Wizard of Oz story!!
