The fact that they made Jessica's hymen grow back after every time she has sex so sex is always painful for her is a detail made up to make a female character suffer for no good reason. There is literally no reason outside of inflicting this intimate pain and letting it hang over every sexual encounter for the rest of her undead life.
To this day, Iām surprised Bill was the one who was the āfreakierā love interest, for Sookie. Like I was expecting Eric to be the type to crawl out of the dirt and you-know-what.
I donāt know if itās just because Bill and Lorenaās relationship was that way, whilst Ericās relationships were a little more pure and based on love and respect, but⦠yeah.
Eric was surprisingly a tender lover.
questions about godric's bloodline
There are many things unanswered and gaps that I would have loved to be filled in the show, but most of them relate to Godric and his bloodline.
Mainly... Eric states that he and Godric had been apart for a long time. Decades. A quick google search made it seem that it was the 1940's when they had their "falling out" -- which is purely speculation, in my opinion. It would make some sense because we see Godric's irritability with Eric during that time period, when Eric was searching for Russell. He scolded him twice about feeding his blood to a werewolf and then for letting her get the drop on him, basically, claiming that his emotions were getting in the way.
Personally, I doubt that was why they weren't face-to-face for 70 odd years. I don't know why they weren't. I mean, were they calling each other and just not face-to-face? Who knows? I figured -- and I stand by it -- that they were separated because of their duties as Sheriff's. They were forced into different states, by the bullshit order of the bullshit Authority (one of the times I agree with Russell).
But there is that itching question, when it comes to the World War 2 flashback, of: where was Pam in all this? Eric had made her in the early 1900's. I don't know the parenting rules for vampires, but they came as a bonded pair just like Eric and Godric did, so I thought she'd be by his side most of the time. He left her alone to race across Germany, looking for Russell? Doubtful. I know the writers probably just wanted to keep everything pretty simple and separate, but I was always perplexed and pissed off about the decision that Eric kept everything secret and close to his chest about Godric and Nora, from Pam.
Part of me gets it. Eric's got a very old school mentality where he believes that if people knew Godric was his Maker, they'd somehow use it against him or Godric. As for Nora... that was clearly just the fact that she came later into the show and was an afterthought, and they had to make Eric look even more like a dick to Pam at that point, for whatever Eric-Sookie and Pam-Tara reasons (I still never bought into either relationship, so really, it was unnecessary).
All in all, I'm just, I guess, mourning the lack of flashbacks. Like, there are so many scenes I would've rather had, of Godric and Eric's past and what they got up to, Godric turning Nora and their relationship, getting to know if Godric even knew about Pam, instead of shit like Jason's traumatising inbred hick werepanther storyline, having to watch Tara be subjected to more torture and manipulation every season, the Lilith storyline, the Warlow storyline...
Like, I know the writers knew they had a goldmine with Allan Hyde as Godric. That's why they kept sprinkling him in every season. But I could've seriously done WITHOUT the "angel perched on Eric's shoulder" crap and instead, had Eric cling to Godric through memories. Like the World War 2 flashback, they could've still related to the plot at large. Like, lessons weaved within flashbacks. The Originals did it all the time.
Answer questions like: were Godric and Eric sexual, ever? Were Godric and Nora sexual, ever? What convinced Godric to turn Nora, given that he was so particular about the sacredness of his blood? What was the day-to-day like for Eric and Pam in the 50's? Did they pose as husband and wife, dressed like something out of an old sitcom, to anyone who asked? I don't know. They're colourful characters. Colour in their past.
I wanna hear people's thoughts, theories, opinions!

I know Eggs is brainwashed by Maryann but the morning-after conversation about them all moving into Sookieās house is wild to me. Both of them trying to guilt Tara into just letting them move into her best friendās house (who is only gonna be gone for a couple more days)⦠I wish someone would try that on me.
āThatās family, Tara.ā Bitch, she doesnāt know you. Sheās known Sookie, Jason and Adele most of her life. And no, you canāt just fucking move in.
i love how i get to grow up with one of my favourite bands
(this is gods apology for me missing out on calpurnia)
