DJ Premier - Headlines feat. Westside Gunn, Conway & Benny DJ Premier - Headlines feat. Westside Gunn, Conway & Benny On Payday Records https://ffm.to/headli...
This one took a minute to set in. Honestly Iām a bit dizzy after hearing this. First off this cut is brand new. It makes me feel like I fell into a timewarp. Underground headz most definitely know Preemo. Unless youāve been drowning in a mumble ocean full of opiates waiting for Lil Yachty to throw you a life preserver, you most definitely know the Griselda crew.
Iām flashing back hard yo.Ā
Iām that kid bumpinā unreleased Mobb Deep cuts off of a DJ Juice mixtape that I bought out of a Tape Kingz catalog back in 1995 after a shift at Chuck E. Cheese.
This shit could have easily been released back in the mid 90ā²s, it could haveĀ easily been on DJ Premierās New York Reality Check 101 mix,
it could have easily bumped Jay-ZāsĀ āIn My Lifetimeā single off of Paydayās roster,Ā
these guys wouldāve been on tour with Group HomeĀ
and Jeru tha Damaja.Ā
This would have been in heavy rotation on college radio, Rae and Ghost wouldāve been on the promo only, white label 12ā³ remix...
Iām having a flashback even though this cut is brand new. The Preemo beat is so classic, the Griselda crew paint pictures. This aināt no R&B song. K-Ci and JoJo arenāt on the hook. Yeah, itās great, itās making me feel some kinda way.Ā
Whereās the instrumental? I know mad dudes that want to freestyle. I need doubles.
Nocche dure in strada come il grande joe..
Herbie HancockĀ āRockitā
This is the track that brought DJing to the mainstream music world.

Flued One and Fashawn bring you Deep Shadows.
Fresno all up in your area!!! Don't sleep on real art. Flued One and Fashawn get philosophical over a buttery backdrop. Salute to the artists raising the vibration of the people.
Aiiiiight you all... We need to talk about the man, the myth, the beatsmith, the machine, the all around awesome possum that goes by the non de plume: Nocturnal Ron.
I first met Ron in LA in 2004...? I think it was... Everything is hazy. I was working with Emcee Dopestyle on the Fool's Pool album,
we had just driven all night from San Francisco to record with another Hip Hop enigma by the name of Fathead. (Dude is wild, big up to 3-1-Omar).
Fathed took us to The Halifax apartments to meet Ron. Dude was prolific, he must make beats in his sleep. We ended up taking turns in his closet vocal booth recording just for fun.
Ron is a true artist and beatsmith, forever following the muse, combining decades worth of popular culture references with crate digging expertise and an insane work ethic. In my humble opinion he is a producer on par with the likes of Madlib, Dilla, Doom... I'm not kidding.
His projects have mad flow, its very easy to get lost in his seamless, patchwork sample compositions. Check out his impressive 100 Beats In One Week release as well as his most recent Mick's Tape volumes 1 and 2, described as music Mick Jagger would bump while on tour... Hahaha.
Big up to the Nocturnal one, a gifted beatmaker and genuinely awesome possum. As an added bonus, because I wrote this $+!t, here's my bootleg take on Ron's Mick's Tape Side 1, word booty:
-My name is Jason but you can call me Neva...
Goodnight, bless up, don't sleep.
