Troy Ave - Your Style ft. Lloyd Banks
Say what you want about Troy Ave, he has said and done a lot of questionable things in his career and I don't blame anybody who doesn't like him. But his run in 2014-2015 was one of the best times to be in New York City. Brooklyn had a dominate run in the 2010 decade and it's history that should forever be acknowledge.
Prince is notorious for rarely clearing samples. Lil Wayne is notorious for his music leaking like a running faucet in the 2000s. If Diamonds & Girls never leaked on this mixtape, I would've love to been a fly on the wall at Paisley Park just to see Prince's reaction to Wayne sampling Diamonds & Girls. I just know he had a deadpan stare hearing Wayne's lyrics.
I haven't revisited DON'T BE DUMB after the first listen. But I do have two songs from the album in the rotation though, as y'all can see. PUNK ROCKY is my personal standout because it reminds me of his previous song Sundress, which is one my favorite songs by Rocky. I wouldn't mind a project of Alternative Rock music from Rocky.
