#trimmings

As the due date rapidly approaches, it has become very clear that we don't have enough entries yet! Because of this, and for anyone who needs extra time to finish their entries, the due date is being extended!

The new date is January first! That's right, everyone gets almost an entire extra month! This might be the only year that happens, so make sure to make it worth it!

I hope everyone is excited to enter their little meaty friends into the contest to see who has the best friend!

As I’m already a bit late to start the contest, let’s jump right in!

Section one: overview

As the competition started late, it will also end late. The new due date, rather than November 30th, is now December 10th - that’s seven extra days to work on your trimming!

Now you may ask, what counts as a submission? And the answer to that is any form of visual art! Carvings, drawings, sculptures, anything goes!

How is the contest judged? Based off of design appeal and effort! Art skill and medium are not factors of the judging, though a stick figure will not rank as highly as a classical style oil painting.

How do you enter? Through the ask box, of course! If you are unable, for whatever reason, tagging @trimming-contest-official or @42gasp will also enter your trimming - though it isn’t preferred.

Section two: rules

You may enter as many pieces as you want, but remember: quality over quantity!

Don't devalue other trimmings! If someone tells me or a judge that you’ve harassed or bothered another contestant IN REGARDS TO THE COMPETITION, then we may ban you. However, if the harassment was not in relation to the contest, it is out of our control.

No trans, homo, etc. -phobia or -ism. Essentially, no bigotry. This will, in most or all occasions, result in a ban from the competition.

NO AI. If, for some reason, there is a trimming picrew then you CAN use it, but effort does factor in to the judging so it may not win as easily.

You can enter infinite images, but only up to three trimmings.

Keep entries PG 13. Gore is allowed, but no nudity!

Only trimmings, please. Anthro trimmings are fine as long as they’re recognizable as the species. Do not enter a young mimic in hopes of it killing and eating the host. Please. This is why everything stopped in the eighties and we waited so long to pick it back up, okay? Let’s not do that again.

Well no, you also have to add the trimming’s name but while lore is appreciated, it is not required.

If your trimmings name is not in English, or is longer than twenty characters, please type it out in the ask! I will be tagging the posts with the owner’s name along with the trimming’s, to better organize.
