Here's a nice little old school mix trick that I don't hear too often these days. I called it "Snare Chasing", (not sure if anyone else had name for it). I first learned this trick from some OG's back in the day when I first started. You're basically manipulating the snare of a song with a double/ copy on the other side to make the drums sound funkier.
