i enjoy aro and ace spec adaine but i like other hcs for her too she has nothing specifically set in my brain for her

I think the most interesting one I’ve seen so far is ‘Nerd Squad’, aka: QPR Riz and Adaine! I think it works really well because both of them are so similar and relate to each other in so many ways that’s it’s just comforting to find each other and know that there’s no expectation of romance between each other.

I REALLY love the poly ship of Riz, Adaine, and Fabian. Maybe one of my favorites by far. It’s Adaine and her two losers who will do anything besides admit they care for each other. It’s Riz and these two posh elves that spoil him to the ends of the world. It’s Fabian and the two nerds that he will aggressively defend to the end of his life, despite the fact that they will end up ripping someone apart on his behalf.

Adaine marrying them so Fallinel stops sending suitors in attempts that she returns. Riz marrying them for tax benefits. Fabian marrying them to brag about those he loves. The three of them all having some insanely engraved rings and gold jewelry Fabian splurged on them for.. Adaine making them some spells that they can use… Riz putting down work more than usual for them.. god I love it.

I definitely enjoy aro+acespec Adaine as well (I also hc she has a preference for fem/nb people. And that she uses she/he and prefers masc terms like boyfriend and handsome)

Adaine is completely content. She mostly lives with Riz and Fabian because he muuuuch prefers being in Spyre and not on Leviathan, but it’s almost like a divorce situation where Adaine will spend a week or two with Fig and Ayda and then head back to Riz and Fabian when she’s done.

I think all the Bad Kids have their own little webs of who they partner with, and most of them are with one another. Like Gorgug will come over every so often and him and Fabian will get together if Riz isn’t in the mood, or he comes over just for guys night (Ragh is often invited for both times). Kristen is often with Fig and Ayda but they just haven’t decided how to tell them that they want them to join their relationship.

Just interested to see what people prefer

I like to think that unintentionally, Adaine leads the relationship. She’s quick to give a side eye or step in with a heavy fist prepared to fight. Plus Fabian and Riz do enjoy watching him boss them around every so often, or watching as she steps forward and is about to say something that everyone was thinking but no one wanted to say.

Fabian prides himself on his partners the most, going on and on about his perfect boyfriends and how they’re such geniuses. He bought them crazy expensive rings (it was the only ‘legitimacy’ to their wedding) and insists on buying everything. It’s always his card, his account, his number. Not that he thinks that they can’t afford it on their own, but it certainly makes him feel better knowing that they won’t have to deal with not having enough.

For the wedding.. Everything else was legal documents that Riz handled and a large party with slightly wedding formality, aka: nicer clothing for the pictures and the vows and immediately changing into pjs once family left and it was time for just friends to reunite and get drunk and have a sleepover once more. They had the wedding mostly for tax benefits and so Fallinel would stop sending potential spouses to Adaine (it didn’t stop it entirely, to everyone’s disappointment).

We’ve got qpr/poly Bad Kids [Every single Bad Kid in a poly, and every single one of their individual partners like Ayda or Zelda or Mary Ann are a part of it on the outside of the Bad Kids’ individual web. Also some of the others (like Ragh) can join in as part of the relationship when they want or leave/take a break whenever they’re done]

And Parent Polycule [Every one of the Bad Kid’s parents are in their mostly canonical relationships but just everyone’s together now and the Bad Kids become a found family turned real family. It’s even funnier if, like canon, the Thistlesprings aren’t actually a part of the web but they do join in on the meet ups.]

Not in the same world, cause that would form some weird family complications, but these two are by far my favorite cause anything can go.

For less ‘broad’ poly ships.. gotta say Fabian/Riz/Adaine and Sklonda/Hallariel/Sandra Lynn are amazing. I explained the Fabian/Riz/Adaine situation in your Adaine ask, but I don’t know if I’ve ranted fully about Sklonda/Hallariel/Sandra Lynn yet

It’s really all about Sklonda I think. She finally gets a friend in Sandra Lynn who loves the exact same things as her (like they are so similar. Holding their nose bridge as they deal with the Bad Kids, constantly exhausted and definitely just needing a drink night with each other yapping about their lives and having margaritas) but ooooohh god I could see an enemies to lovers pipeline between Hallariel and Sklonda that Sandra Lynn just has to sit by and watch as the first solid relationship she’s had in a while goes to hell like before, except it’s not even her fault this time.

But god I’ve been rotating Sklonda and Hallariel interacting SO much. It’s someone who had to claw their way up through the ranks and still having to deal with loss and despair and the cruelty of capitalism coming face to face with the woman who raised the kid her son is close with.. and this woman is a mess and doesn’t care. She drinks till she’s lost, she splurges on anything, she views life as so fleeting because she lives through nearly all of the lifetimes of everyone she’s ever met.

I imagine that Sklonda hates her. Hates her guts, hates her carelessness to both her son and everyone else, hates her privilege in this world where she’s had to fight so hard..

And I think Hallariel is both into it (Fabian is a freak and he got it from somewhere) and avoidant of her. I think Hallariel views Sklonda as someone else too fleeting in her life to care and it takes a while before Sklonda knocks some sense into her (alongside Sandra Lynn) and they are all a bunch of grown women who learn to accept that they’re both gay and are allowed to love someone knew even when they’ve got kids
