Things were off to an inauspicious start. After choosing the Treelord Ancient from the instructions, I managed to fire the first two parts off the hobby area. One was found, eventually, but the other's MIA currently. Both were optional parts, so work could continue: I guess I'm making a Spirit of Durthu now. I mean, it's not like I don't have more of them to do the alternatives, regardless of whether I find the missing piece or not.

I'm just going to use this picture as an example of my folly. See the torsi leaning up against the backdrop in the first picture? That's the best I could get with it. I managed so somehow get the outer ring sort of holding, but then came the absolute nadir when trying to fit the base of the torso. Instructions maketh no sense. The neck part fits in OK, but the base just, I-... whu-...? Also, why are we not building around this bit, if it's solid?

I gave up put the torso on hold, as I thought the legs might be better and give me a stable platform to work with. Also, to help me get a sense of the overall size. While no ring, one leg is 6 parts, with 1 fiddly in between part (the knee?) that just wobbled due to the tack. I couldn't get the leg stable enough to sit the hips on, so I gave up decided to call it a day until I make the time for clean up and glue. The leg's whispering at me to pin it though.
