Said fact was that the 1975 unsolved case of the three people disappearing into the George Washington National Forest had taken place here. In Henrietta, Virginia. It was in a relatively quiet part of the club, which meant that it sounded like one rock concert was taking place as opposed to fifteen of them. 

          But the other option was meeting Neeve alone, which he wasn’t stupid enough to do. When she arrived, she was wearing a soft mauve dress, a black cardigan and a tall black hat which matched her black lace gloves. While the rest of her ensemble was simplistic, she also wore silver earrings in the shape of owls. They were so large and distracting that Adam had to keep mentally chastising himself, that he had to keep looking at her face. 

         It was likely she’d worn them for that effect.“Adam, darling.” she said. “How are you? How is dear Persephone?”“I think you know that she’s not around,” said Adam, stiffly.“I suspected, I didn’t know absolutely.”“What do you know about the Sargents? About where Maura is, where Blue is?”

Adam has a long day. He can't stop thinking about the future, the inevitability of the end of everything. Because it is inevitable, isn't it? Ronan pulls him out of it.

"There was a bit of distance between Gansey and Ronan in the following days. Hennessy seemed to grow curious over it. “Did you boys get in a fight? Was it over the things Ronan likes to say about Henry Cheng? Because that’s the only way I’ll be on your side about it.” 

“It was about Adam,” said Gansey. “It wasn’t a fight, just a conversation.”

“She was?” Adam wasn’t sure how to feel about that. He didn’t really know Blue at all. He knew she was very pretty, and that she was creative in the way that Henry was. He guessed Gansey liked that.
