I'm only on episdode 95 of welcome to nightvale but im having reoccuring dreams about a special show guest named Cathereine (spelled like that) who works with her husband at a restaurant that only serves mushrooms. She inherited it from her grandparents awhile ago and is, in dream Cecils words, "Really sprucing up the place!"
(Previously it had been shut down for health code violations implied to be mushroom religion related)
Basically the gimic is she and her husbands serve a mushroom hivemind and are trying to spread the mushroom hivemind thingy to other people, by having them eat white mushrooms that, in dream Cecils words, "look like long babys the color of a pale white... Mushroomy color with a screaming- no not screaming, laughing face. They taste like uhm-" *obvious sounds of disgust but choking it down* "spongy... Flesh?"
Basically she inherited it from her grandparents because they were implied to have fully been taken over by the mushroom hivemind, and her goal is cultivating the most irresistible and delectable mushrooms in nightvale.
Cathereine goes on long tangents about how she'a trying to make the mushrooms as tantalizing and irresistible as possible and talks for ages. Cecil eventully has to be like "yes yes sure I'm sure you're doing your best to make the mushrooms just wonderful but you've been talking uhh.. A long time! and we need to go to the weather" 🎶🎵🎶🎵🎶🎵🎶🎵🎶🎵🎶🎵 "well now that she's gone, I can continue with today's news. You know those mushroom people can be real annoying always getting in my way and forcing me to eat screaming mushrooms shaped like babies and jaywalking! Real annoying things."
