Could the original have made a female version of himself?
I suppose Zandik could've made a segment with a female body. However, having already gone through such a thing in adolescence and developed a particular dislike for it, it makes sense that we were simply created in the state he was in at the time rather than in what we would've been if his original body hadn't caused him discomfort. An interesting concept, but ultimately not one we were interested in pursuing.
