Today marks 1 year on the magical HRT & hitting 1000 followers!! 🤩 . . . I want to thank everyone who has come along on my journey to becoming Cait as you’ve all been a massive help on getting here. ☺️ No way did I think I’d have met the amazing people I have this time last year, especially the few close and real friends & family who’ve got me through the bad days. You know who you are 😊💜 So to help everyone get to know me better here’s a few facts about me you might or might not know! . 🇬🇧 I live in and was born in the UK (boring right!) 👩 I’m 27 years old 💭 I’m single.. am I looking for that special someone?.. probably not 😂 🏳️🌈 Pansexual & trans 🏳️⚧️ (obviously) 💊 Started HRT on the 22nd August 2020.. was DIY though but with perfect levels since my first bloods.. naughty girl I know 😱 🦽 This gal is in a wheelchair (not that I post about it much, I should probably change that 🙄) 🌱 Was vegan, but I’m more vegetarian these days 💅 Probably somewhere between girlie girl and lumberjack (I love flannel shirts ❤️) 💭 Have no tattoos, yet! That’s changing in the near future 🎶 I love most music with rock, metal and 2000s pop being my faves (not that the last one is a genre 🙄) 🎮 Huuuuuge Pokémon fan, with Pikachu being my favourite 😍 💄 Can’t get enough makeup I have become pretty much obsessed 💁♀️ 🤭 Probably laugh at my own jokes too much . . . . #transgendervisibility #transuk #transanniversary #hrt #transmtf #transgenderpride🌈 #transgenderwoman #transgirlsdoitbetter #m2f #beyourself #trans https://www.instagram.com/p/CS3zBAJDPsa/?utm_medium=tumblr
Trans-inclusive terminology. It’s totally OK to struggle with this. In my line(s) of work, I talk to thousands of people most weeks. Thousands. In a given month, I may speak to more new strangers than others communicate with in YEARS of their life. If I work the box office for a concert I have to communicate with every single human who comes into the building. If I’m working merch for a band on tour that’s usually 20+ days every month, talking to most of the fans, whether they actually purchase something from me or not.. The last few years specifically, I have been trying to be more present and mindful about my over-use of the word “Guys”.. I know that to some it may seem so tiny and trivial, but it is neither, and we don’t decide that someone else’s pain isn’t valid. I address so many people. I try very hard to just call people friend(s). “Hey friends, do you have your tickets?” “Nice to see you, have fun at the show, kids!” Weirdos👾, pals 👯 , partners 🤠, people👩👩👦👦 Maybe it’s easier for me to try and de-program because I get my increased reps in.. but it’s just important. I’m truly not motivated by the internet nice-guy points. I have and still make real mistakes daily in my treatment of myself and others. I’m not trying to paint a picture that i’m ahead of anyone on any measure. I use to be the man who fought for the use of the word “guys” as a gender-neutral term for a group of people. “Good guys, bad guys, Hi guys, these guys, youse guys..” I really wanna talk and learn about these things so I keep throwing it on my social media diary so y’all might engage me on this stuff and we can collaborate and elevate, together. (Thx @jonodiener for sharing this post from @glaad) Plus there are so many fun ways to address groups and not even imply gender. Peeps, cats, homies, humans, lifeforms, travelers, heroes, aliens, party people, y’all Drop any of these into thesaurus.com or websearch “___ synonyms” and watch people’s faces when you use a fun, inclusive greeting they weren’t expecting. 😆 Do you have a fun/smart/weird one you’d like to suggest?? #transgenderawarenessweek #transgendervisibility #transgender #lgbt+ (at Earth) https://www.instagram.com/p/B5A0WDDA1ki/?igshid=n6bsv6x7xpfe
Everyone knows I’m pretty vocal and unapologetic about my trans identity. For me every month is Trans awareness month, being that I’m not only trans but a trans person who’s disadvantaged in many different ways. That being said I’ve remained strong and have powered through most of my challenges since coming out a little over two years ago and starting hormones a little over 15 months ago. I know that despite my disadvantages I also have privileges to match. With that privilege I’d like to use my voice to say please never forget about trans folks out here who are trying hard to stay alive and find our place in a world that says we need to not exist. Please keep in mind the businesses who openly work to exclude us. Help us in the fight to gain basic human rights and equality. If you’ve been and are an ally, thank you and keep that up. #transgendervisibility #transisbeautiful #transgenderwoman #transrightsarehumanrights #iamwhoiam #fightwithpositivity transpositivity https://www.instagram.com/p/BqEcfOdlatrZ-JmBqlOZBKMjhQb5-ZExwzJmOQ0/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1uripayz4gda4
