listen. as someone running a queer positivity blog with the world being.... like it is right now, i feel like i need to say a few things.
the first is that vents are always welcome in my inbox, and i will always listen no matter the subject, no matter your personal opinions or political stance or anything.
the second is that i am not required to make posts or reblogs about ever tragic bill. yes, it needs to be talked about. yes, we need public awareness. but i am transgender. i have generalized anxiety and depression. there need to be spaces focusing on promoting group joy and euphoria and love, because when the whole world is talking about every awful thing, it becomes very hard to even go online to have fun.
we need to talk about these things. but it is not ever trans persons job to try and make a differance. some of us just want a space free from negativity, and we are not evil for not priorotizing activism.
we do not owe anyone activism. we are allowed to exist free of politics online.

you may have seen me with another post linking to a gfm for my friend basil and its partner-- i'm making another post bc their situation has changed, tdlr they are about to be homeless. it is preferable to donate directly to basil through ven mo and cash app since gfm requires it verify its identity before withdrawling & takes a percentage of the cut, while ven mo and cash app do not.
cash app: $reihina
ven mo: basil45
gfm: will rb with a link since posts with links to not show up in tags
if you give $20 or more i can make an edit/tween art/color manga/etc for you, dm with proof and depending on how much you gave we can talk out what i can make for you, i don't have a comm sheet just yet but you can check for examples on my youtube, kiotsune

[image id: a screenshot of a notes app, which was posted to twitter instead of making a tweet due to its length. it reads:
sorry to only ever have bad news but i just got a call from my landlord and if we do not pay our outstanding balance by the 18th of this month (time of writing 7pm 1/6/22, january sixth twenty twenty two) they are going to file for eviction on us. we've been waiting on financial assistance from the state since SEPTEMBER after i got COVID and lost 2 (two) weeks worth of wages. we've kept ourselves housed thus far by making biweekly payments of $150 (one hundred and fifty dollars) to keep the balance low but something has changed in upper management in my neighborhood and they are going to begin filing anyone w/ (with) an outstanding balance starting the 18th.
i just got paid today on the 6th and will not get paid again until the 20th, AFTER the cutoff date. the goal is $2000,two thousand dollars (we owe $1,864, one thousand eight hundred and sixty four dollars, currently). PLEASE rt (retweet) and share, we are two trans men who got fucked over by catching COVID and emergency COVID rental funds haven't been secured yet. i'm calling the ERAP office tomorrow to try to push our case through but it isn't guaranteed and we will be homeless by February if not.

Hey I am a trans girl and really hate my voice and such, do you have any tips for other trans people to help them with dysphoria in general?
Trans femme voice issues are tough, I gotta say. Definitely in my top five things I wanna wish away, but we're stuck.
A lot depends on what you're working with as dysphoria goes. It doesn't usually heavily weigh on me, perhaps because, personally, I see myself as moving towards who I am, rather than moving away from who I am not. I spec dysphoria is more difficult for binary trans people who experience being trans as "I'm not XYZ" rather than as "I am ZYX" so to speak.
If it's really severe, you can look into vocal training, though take care with free videos. The general better practice seems to be learning to control your vocal cords and Adam's apple to "naturally" lift your octaves rather than trying to force yourself into a higher register (Betty Boop voice). The latter can injure you, hence taking care. If it's extremely severe, there are also surgical options, but of course that's costly.
Generally we're always going to have nagging stuff we don't like about ourselves. But consider - that's just very human. We all have imperfections and we always will. I mostly deal with it by just, y'know, living with it. Sometimes they bother me, sometimes not, and most of the time fuck it, I'm who I am take it or leave it. So I guess that's my other tip, just muscling through on raw fuck-it-all. I can't afford surgery, I can't remember to practice voice training, just kinda go as I am.
