enough time has passed and 31 is coming soon, I have more thoughts on chpt30. Let’s get into it.
1) hey. wtf was like. Any of that.
This chapter was messsssyyyyy and while I’m going to write into some of these vague points, pls just know that I still resort back to this one. I think we all agree that this chapter felt both rushed and all over the place. A lot of things are playing into that (the amount of characters to use vs the amount were being seen touched on, the scenes that Have to happen vs pacing needed for organic flow, etc.) and unfortunately I don’t see that pedal lifting.
There’s just too much going on and I believe it’s causing this very well acknowledged snappy feeling that makes each panel feel like a millisecond.
2) Elita. Prime.
Poorly written and poorly produced. Lacked any rebirth, lacked sheer size, just gained wings and some heels. There was just a washy feeling that happened here and I’m not sure it’s on purpose?
2.5) Elitumis Prime
Okay divided point because it Might be on purpose it might not. But if Elita lacking a new name is a key to something then I’d like to be the one to take a poke at it.
Plenty of people are saying that this is a test for Elita that will either:
A) make her realize how hard the whole Matrix-Primehood-Shitck is and she gives the matrix back after all of this passes
B) She tries to push through the previous feeling and the Matrix rejects her altogether
C) She grows in character and becomes a baller prime
Now I’m not going to say which of these is the best option because I Don’t Know. She could pull something crazy and even attempt to destroy the matrix for all I care. But there are still some questions that float around the matrix, what it’s doing and more importantly if Kirkman is going to stick to preset lore.
- could the matrix be testing Elita/forcing her to Prove herself as the only one who “deemed Elita worthy” was Optimus and not the Matrix itself? Only in a “worthy death” did Orion become Optimus, will Elita have to go through the same?
3) TONE.
I’m. Conflicted. On initial read it was damn near infuriating to bear witness to just about Any of this chapter. But on a second read (and after marinating on the context) I’ve come to some guesses.
These few bits on first read (heavy on that last one) come off very very nasty. I didn’t like it and I haven’t met anyone else that has. Though after reading it again, I can’t help but feel that these aren’t warnings or threats, but instead it’s almost a plea. If they all cross the bridge again (Autobots not the Autofrauds (sorry Optimus)) then Elita doesn’t know if she can ever see them again. Despite all the trouble and all the worry that happened, they still want the Autofrauds okay and safe. I’d probably try to force my loved ones into an ultimatum too if I was in Elita’s position. This is just Do or Die x100
Okay okay here’s my last tone-throw in the wind and it’s gonna sound crazy; The matrix might not have “chosen” Elita but it is testing her to see if she has what it takes to be an Autobot leader or will she become the next Megatron?
To be frank, I like None of these panels. They scare me papa and the last two make me violently uncomfortable. That however, has to be the point. We’re seeing a side of Elita that shouldn’t exist. War is one hell of a thing and I think this has to be emphasis on “there are no winners”. Both factions are fighting the same fight (on Cybertron), both factions are without their “Real Leader”, both have resorted to cannibalism, so who the hell is even winning?
When this is all over, will they (successors; ideally the Autobots) be able to tell the difference between Elita-1 and Megatron in words alone? The violence is shared, the challenge of power, the need for a strong fist to guide (not an open hand).
It’s obvious to me that Elita needs an anchor, it’s less obvious to me if Kirkman will allow it to be Optimus (or fucking anyone at this point). I doubt we’ll see her back on earth, even remotely soon if ever, and I’m sure she’ll get thrown into battle before getting to explore the beauty of the matrix, and instead only know the horrors of Primehood.
5) Sparky.
Hey. Why is no one talking about sparky.
Optimus had some definitely spooky flashbacks and whole ass hallucinations? Visions? Of Sparky and his boy only for it to parallel Optimus’s own (and debatably, open the door for how Optimus really felt about Bee; that’s his son! Now he has a word for it!). It helped OP understand that even if the Autobots continuously got smacked down, they were still doing the right thing. The humans were safe- shit they were remorseful and saddened over OPs “death” - and thousands of lives were grateful for the Autobots as a whole.
Now that Elita has the matrix aka new home for Sparkys soul, will she meet him? Will she talk to a human- a war vet just like herself, who almost lost himself in the war and almost fucked up his relationships for good- and realize that they aren’t that different?
-
At the end of the day, I don’t know how it’ll play out, and there’s so much to cover god knows if Kirkman will even attempt to touch on all of this. The long run of this comic is the easiest to see but the short run is where it gets hazy. Either way I’m nervous and wish Elita would just. Punch megs idk

Imagine if Cybertronians didn't have our language translated. I've seen it done in a few fics. (I.e. @revelboo's fanfics đź’•) Imagine if a human appeared in front of them (ex. Your fave/blorbo), hearing their weird organic language as nothing bust noise.
Remember we as humans experience uncanny valley and so why wouldn't they? It can either frighten us or empathize us with creatures like them, so the same could be said for them.
Like how we see a cute baby in a kitten or a puppy's face/mannerisms. Or how we can hear a human like laugh from a type of money or mammal. Mimicking us. Until some start to see they as uncomfortably different. Like Cybertronians seeing an untranslated human; as Fleshy beasts that mimic them.
Like how human faces would mimic a Cybertronian's, how humans bodies are comparable. Even having (generally) the same number of fingers. But the way we sound would be so foreign. Like an animal.
An animal that makes noises so similar to them laughing. Imagine an uncannily human laugh coming from something almost identical to a human; many folklore and horror stories feature this.
So, would your blorbo-bot be scared or endeared to us/you (or an oc)?
My lovely, wonderful boyfriend was rewatching the Bayverse movies and brought up a valid thought: How is Unicron active when he's supposed to be Earth's core in the seventh movie (TF: The Last Knight)?
The artifact that the movie is basically centered on, the transwarp key, is said it can be used to open portals through time and space- hinting at the multiverse! SO WHAT IF: the Unicron that is the threat in RotB is just from another universe where instead of becoming earth, he was able to move across space– as he is shown and said in the beginning of RotB. That also would mean the maximals are also from another universe– the same one Active!Unicron is from!
Seeing as the maximals created the key and were said to have higher advanced technology, they knew of the multiverse and therefore knew that Optimus from the main universe could help them. Unicron being what he is, also most likely knew of the multiverse and knew the key could help him conquer and eat more. Plus it would stan to reason that Earth!Unicron was dormant around this time and no one knew he was the earth in the universe because there were no signs yet until The Last Knight!
But that's just a theory, a game (movie) theory!
I could just be wanting this and accept that Bumblebee & TF:RotB are just in separate timelines than the first five but 🤷.
You may be aware of the fact that in G1 there is an episode where female autobots show up. You may also know that most of them has name that match their partners:
Ironhide and Chromia – metalic motive
Firestar and Inferno – fire motive
Optimus Prime and Elita One – "first"/"best" motive
The only exception are Moonracer and Powerglide, but that might be becouse at first Moonracer was supposed to be shown with Sunstreaker, which would give a moon-sun motive.
Ok, ok, ok where am I going with this. My point is. Transformers canon couples in G1 seem to have matching names. AND NOW TELL ME THAT RATCHET AND WHEELJACK AREN'T MATCHING NAMES
What if TFOne Sentinel was a pleasure or entertainment frame and through some kind of comedy of errors ended up as Tower Admin cross training as military/high guard.
Just having stupid what-if thoughts while felling seams. Idk.
Yeah I'm in the middle of a sticky scene in my oc x Canon indulgence fic.

every time i read longer transformers fanfiction i go like "damn interactions between those robots must be so loud, even a handshake must be deafening". it's also in some transformers shows, like in the unicron trilogy when they added this annoying sound of stomping that are just. one loud af sound repeating over and over. and it got me thinking what if cybetronians to be able to deal with that have really shitty hearing. so those sounds are comparingly quiet to them. it would make interactions with humans even funnier without any technology used. the human is screaming at the top of their lungs and cybetronian they talk to is barely able to hear them unless they scream right into their audial. transformers need more silly traits i think
Fever booger brain came up with a theory based on a fact I learned (not sure if it's true or not but still)
So you know how native American names translated to English end up being something like Crazy Horse?
What if cybertronians are the same way? Like, their names are things like Bluestreak and Wingsaber because of translations and names like Optimus and Megatronus are simply the original ones because they can't be translated?
Jazz is apparently an example of this theory because, if I remember correctly, he chose the name Jazz because his cybertronian name was too difficult for humans to pronounce.
Since that skyfire (or “jetfire”) is been confirmed to be alive in the movie by mention and the concept artist confirms that he adds skyfire in it because he likes him.
This made me think that skyfire was part of sentinel guards like darkwing and the other guard bots (except he would be the nicest one). And before the betrayal of sentinel, he was close friends with starscream, after the betrayal, he’s loyal to sentinel and decided to be part of his twisted side.
This also leads to starscream calling skyfire a traitor, just like in G1 where skyfire was called a traitor to starscream and the other decepticons when he chosed the autobot side.
