Tommy lets him go, flopping back against the rumpled sheets to watch as Evan rolls away from him and out of the bed.  “You’re a menace,” Evan scolds, grabbing a pillow to lob at Tommy’s head. Tommy can’t help but laugh, the sound of it getting muffled as the pillow hits him square in the face with a downy thwump.  He pulls it down from his face even though it smells like a combination of him and Evan and he wants to lay there breathing it in forever. He doesn’t have to settle for lingering impressions. Evan is here, with him–– in his home, in his bed, carrying his child. It makes his stomach do a complicated series of flips, his heart clenching in his chest as his smile goes soft.  “But you love me.” “But I love you,” Evan echoes, smile soft and indulgent as he traces his eyes over Tommy’s face. “And you have a big dick.”  Now it’s Tommy’s turn to throw the pillow at Evan, but with surprising agility for a man seven months pregnant, he dodges it as he makes his way into the ensuite bathroom.

Tommy smiles at him softly and it makes Buck’s already tumultuous stomach flip. He’s not sure what to do with the emotion he’s feeling, can’t put a name on it as it swells behind his breastbone and makes it hard to breathe. Whatever it is, it feels too big and too complicated to be facing down while sitting on the bathroom floor.  With a groan, Buck gets his legs underneath him and starts to push himself up. Tommy is immediately there, a warm solid presence at his side, big strong hands helping to hoist Buck up from the floor. His knees and hips ache from sitting awkwardly on the cold tile for so long, and he leans gratefully into Tommy’s side.  Callused fingertips slide over the nape of Buck’s neck before Tommy’s hand settles there, squeezing away some of the tension coiling painfully tight at the base of Buck’s skull.  “You want to take it right now?” Tommy holds out the box with the pregnancy test. He must have grabbed it off the floor while helping Buck up.  It looks so plain and unassuming in his hand. A flimsy blue and white box with contents that has the power to drastically change the rest of Buck’s life… no. Not just Buck’s life, but Tommy’s too.  That big emotion presses insistently against the cage of his ribs.

Tommy also loves him very much and it's so so obvious while Buck is pregnant. He will do ANYTHING to make sure Buck is as comfortable as possible. Buys him ginger chews and peppermint tea and ginger tea and every other combination of tea meant to help with nausea when he has bad morning sickness. Gets him those little pressure point bands and everything. He even says he'll call out of work to stay with Buck and Buck is like no please go do the job you love instead of staying home and watching me puke. please.
