trans Neil could actually make so much sense if you think about it because imagine theyâre on the run, and Neil says to Mary âmom what if I started dressing like a boyâ and Mary, hellbent on disguising them, thinks that a fantastic idea, and immediately agrees. And then Neil is like, âmaybe I could change my name to more boy namesâ and Mary agrees even more. Itâll be harder to find them. Meanwhile it settles something in Neil, makes him feel about as at home as he could be in a body on the run.

(ch.25 & ch.50, aged 4)
I've seen several times trans!neil hc. I find it really interesting and it fits well with canon. However, this means that Nathan saw he actually had a son (at some point when they were on the run) and he just... Went with it. No question. And that he made all of his accomplices respect his son's identity. Really like "alright, you're my son, okay. I'm still going to kill you though." So allyship really comes from the weirdest places, eh? If the serial killer can respect the son he hates's identity, everyone should be able to.
havin myself a good lil cry over trans neil who starts hrt and gets facial hair while heâs still at palmetto just showing up at wymacks apartment at ass oâclock in the morning one day with a grocery bag full of razors and shaving cream like âuhhhh this is the one thing nathan didnât teach me to do with sharp objectsâ and wymack immediately deflates from being poised to grouch and ruffles neilâs hair and puts on a pot of coffee

But Youâre Gay
Summary: The famous âdoesnât mean I wouldnât bow youâ scene. Yet in this version, Neil is a stealth trans guy, something Andrew has recently discovered.
(on ao3)
âDoesnât mean I wouldnât blow you.â
Neil felt his world tilting sideways. Those were words he did not expect to come out of Andrewâs mouth, especially not directed at Neil.
âYou like me.â Neil realized aloud.
âI hate you.â Andrew corrected. Neil didnât pay any mind to it though.
His mind was racing, remembering all the hints that were there but which he never paid enough attention to. Andrewâs hand over his mouth in Exites now made sense. There was something, an answer maybe, that he could feel they were both on the brink of discovering but hadnât come close enough at the moment. But now he understood.
Now everything made sense. Andrew yielding to him, calling him interesting and dangerous, giving him a key to his house and car, and trusting him with Kevin. He understood the reasoning behind each of these, yet at the same time none of it made sense. He couldnât wrap his head around it. He couldnât understand why Andrew would like him. And especially when considering Andrewâs sexuality. That made no sense at all. He was one of the few people who knew Neil was trans, ever since that rooftop conversation they had a few weeks earlier.
âBut. . . but youâre gay.â Neil finally responded.
Andrew rolled his eyes in return. âWhich means Iâm attracted to men.â He said. âYou are a man.â His tone implied that he now thought Neil was even stupider than he previously assumed. He was right, of course, but that didnât stop Neil from feeling a flutter in his chest at that sentence. You are a man.
