Warm cardigans and drinking early morning hot chocolate was in season again, although hot chocolate was good all year-round, autumn was perfect with it. The soft singing of the birds outside awoke Tracy from her slumber. A slumber she felt paralyzed from, not wanting to get out of bed at all, especially after such a long night of love-making.
She blinked her eyes open, warmth wrapped all around her. She was lying on her back, usually the position she woke up in, even after long cuddling sessions with her girlfriend. Speaking of girlfriend, where was Malia? And why were these blankets so heavy?
Tracy slowly tried her best to sit up and pushed off the blankets. Blankets? There were multiple blankets on her. She only remembers sleeping with one, a light, white but soft blanket which carried pretty patterns of red flowers. She rubbed her eyes to get rid of the slight blurriness.
Before she could get up and out of bed, the bedroom door creaked open with Malia popping her head inside, comically, to check if Tracy is awake. "Oh, you're up." Her lips slowly curled into a smile. Tracy nodded with a soft yawn, that was a long but very much needed sleep.
Malia walked in and shut the door gently, locking on Tracy and sitting down beside her. "I made hot chocolate." She expressed with the mug of said hot chocolate in her hand, soft vapor raising and dissipating into the air, filling up Tracy's senses with the smell of the chocolate. "This early in the morning?" Tracy questioned but didn't decline, taking it gently from Malia.
"What, you told me you like in winter mornings. And it's a really cold winter morning." She added, watching Tracy take a careful sip, ensuring she doesn't get a burnt tongue. "Is that why I woke up squashed under five blankets?"
Malia pursed her lips, "Well..." she watched Tracy set the mug down on the bedside table, "you were shivering during the night, really cold... so I just wanted to keep you warm."
The chimera slowly smiled at her, "That's sweet." She paused, "Wait, why were you even awake that late?"
Malia leaned in, wrapping an arm around her. "I was also a bit cold... and missed you. I was close to waking you up." Pulling her close into an embrace. Tracy returned it and before she could respond, Malia slowly pushed her weight on Tracy and they landed back on the layers of blankets. "Malia-"
"Let's just cuddle." The coyote purred and inhaled Tracy's scent. She did that sometimes, get a hold of Tracy and refuse to let go for the next hour or so, sharing scents. Tracy sighed and melted under Malia's warmth. "At least get under the blankets, it's getting cold again." Malai groaned a soft 'fine' before getting under the blanket and grabbing hold of her girlfriend again. Happy to share soft mornings like this, warm and cozy in each other's embrace. Plus, the kisses they shared made it even better.
