It had been a successful mission. Another small victory for the Resistance, all thanks to Finn. Sure, when Ave first found out about Finn’s past and relationship to the Order she was quite hesitant of him. But he only kept proving his worth and loyalty to the Resistance.

It wasn’t long until Ave’s ship entered Kijimi’s atmosphere and began her descent to the surface. According to the coordinates given, Finn was at a cantina which seemed to be in the middle of nowhere. How he ended up there was a mystery to her, but as long as he retrieved the intel he could be three planets away for all she cared.

Ave wasn’t too familiar with the type of crowd on this frigid planet, so she did her best to play it quietly and quickly as she entered the cantina, snow trailing in behind her. It was loud and crowded with mostly neutral faces. But there were some in there that looked as if they were just itching to kill the next person to look at them wrong.

“You don’t have to do this, 2437.”

Finn said calmly, arms held in the air in surrender, but he knew it was a lie. The only good reason a trooper would have not to blast Finn on sight would be to bring him to a superior officer. Finn dangled a metallic tube in front of his former comrade, the code cylinder that Finn had been tasked with stealing for the Resistance. It would take more than an ‘I’m sorry’ and an offer to return what he stole to get Finn off the hook, but he needed to buy himself sometime.

Finn took a half dozen slow steps backwards towards the landing ramp of the ship he planned to escape the hangar with, stolen trooper armor clanking with every step. The last time he had seen armor like this, he was discarding it across the sands of Jakku. And here he was, going to die in the same uniform he’d spent most of his life wearing. The ex-trooper repeated himself.

“You don’t have to do this.”

the fallen order was slowly leaving everyone's memory .   the empire that once ruled the galaxy , now nothing but ashes .   its leaders lost and dead and scattered all around the galaxy they once owned ; now alone with himself and his thoughts , no one pressuring him to be someone else .   armitage hux was simply a dust of who he used to be . the ex-general now a sniper to hire  ( his previous profession back in the cadet academy ) .   some nights he'd find himself behind the bar counter , with a pile of glasses to clean and the drunk people asking for alcohol .

        The war was over and somehow Ave was alive. Alive and on the winning side. She stood among the Resistance, cheering and celebrating and holding one another. This wasn’t how she expected her life to turn out, not even the slightest. But she was happy, and it was all thanks to one man.
