I think it would be very easy to cheat on something like this and just name all the games with extensive mod support. Doom, Quake, Quake 2, Quake 3, Half-Life, Half-Life 2, Heretic, UT99, UT2004, Duke 3D, and so on.

Though, really, some of those games do deserve to be on a list like that just because I like to replay them. Doom 1 and the two Half-Life games at least. Those games get installed and stay installed on every system I've ever owned.

The same goes for Trackmania United and Distance. The user content in those games feels basically infinite and I rarely have a bad time when I play.

I'd probably include Sonic Adventure, Sonic Adventure 2, and Sonic Generations. Those are technically console games, but with the mods all set up, PC is the best platform for those games.

Skyrim, maybe. I've still yet to finish Skyrim. I hit periods of interest where I play it really intensely for a week, maybe two, and then I fall off. Then it sits for months or even years before I go back to it. It doesn't help that I lost my most current save and had to roll back to an older one. Invalidated probably a good 20+ hours of play when that happened.

And at the bottom maybe I'd say.... UFO 50. I need to go back to UFO 50. There's a bunch of games I never touched because I was thinking of streaming them and then I never did.
