If you’ve been keeping up with my stories, I got Covid while at Megacon and kind of dipped for the last two weeks. It was pretty bad for that first week, but I’m testing negative and back at my day job! The biggest downside is I didn’t get to meet up with so many people or make much content while there… It’s a bummer, but I’m healthy and that’s what’s important! You know what we haven’t done in AGES? #tracertuesday ! But since I did some SERIOUS work on upgrading her this weekend, now seems like the perfect time to show off an old pic. This was my first time making foam armor. I did Atlanna’s crown out of foam, but that was just sculpting a solid piece. This was a whole new scary world! @caboosecosplay is amazing and walked me through the whole process. Once I get this finished up and the gloves made, I want to do a Team Tracer shoot with him. So 2019.... - Looking back at it, 2019 was certainly something. I only did two conventions, there were no serious sewing builds, most were just costests. But I made my very first large prop (to which I have a love-hate relationship), and I found that cosplay that brought the spark back into my want to create. She-Ra, Les Mis, and TAZ all brought me out of a funk because of events at the end of 2018. I know I didn’t post enough to show it, and I’m looking to repair that this upcoming year. I don’t pretend to know what I’m doing, because I don’t. I’m still learning the ins and outs, only just now discovering that photographers are a Thing™️ and they are beautiful creatures. I’ve learned that I’m under no obligation to cosplay something- whether it’s be because I’m uncomfortable, or if it’s because it’s tending. It’s a hobby and it’s meant for fun, it’s a matter of who chooses to play along with me. Everything is a learning curve, from creation to socialization. Things are never going to turn out the war you want the first time around. Friends don’t come with a smile and nod, but with work and communication.. 2019 felt like a blur, teetering from side to side without any clear direction of where to go. - 2020: the year I finally graduate, to promising to seeing friends more often, to making the changes I need to move forward. It’s a new decade and rather then viewing it as a challenge, let’s see it as a friend.
