Lying and deceit is something that happens around narcissism. For those people who have narcissistic traits, they have ‘no regard for right and wrong.’ Lying if allowed to continue, interferes with an individual’s thinking pattern and their life.

Narcissism is a personality disorder that stems from mental health issues. Narcissists only see life from their own vantage point and think the world revolves around them. They have a disregard for other people’s feelings, they have an excessive need for admiration, have a sense of entitlement and can struggle to handle any criticism.

Narcissistic only see their truth, which often is distorted. They will continue to see what is in their best interest and make their life about them.

Unless someone with narcissistic behaviour traits is able to see for themselves that they are narcissistic, you cannot help them change their behaviour. It is something they will need to see for themselves.

If you’re around someone who presents with narcissism, discussions that may seem harmless can turn into heated arguments and frayed tempers. It is important to keep yourself safe and make sure that what you’re doing is in your own best interests.

She told me she loved me, said she was proud, Praised every small thing, spoke it out loud. But I saw through the veil of her hollow praise, A love like a shadow that hides in a haze.

She clung to the fact that she gave me birth, Confusing love's value with mere proof of worth. Delusions whispered, "I love you" in vain, But words without action leave only pain.

Love is a verb — not a word to repeat, It's in how you hold me, not phrases you speak. She never learned what loving means true, Just said "I love you," but never knew.

She never stopped to hear what I say, Her mind raced ahead, no time to stay. Quick to respond, but slow to see, The meaning behind my words to me.

Between our tongues, a thick, cold wall, A barrier strong, so hard to crawl. She heard my voice but not my heart, Lost in translation from the start.

Hypocrisy dressed in "I love you" guise, But actions betrayed her well-worn lies. Words empty as wind, lost in the air, A love declared, but never there.
