Reposted from @disneyvacationclub Sea turtles may travel thousands of miles between the beaches where they nest and their feeding grounds at sea. Raya, a loggerhead sea turtle recently released near Disney’s Vero Beach Resort by the Sea Turtle Conservancy @conserveturtles and @disneyconservation Team Wildlife, has already swam nearly 200 miles in the last week alone as part of the 14th annual Tour de Turtles. While swimming in this year’s migration marathon, Raya is raising awareness of the threat of artificial light pollution on turtle-nesting beaches. Follow Raya’s travels at TourDeTurtles.org, and help improve beaches for sea turtles by choosing sea turtle-friendly lighting and keeping lights off along the beach at night. #DisneyConservation #DisneyTeamWildlife #DisneyConservationFund #TourdeTurtles https://www.instagram.com/p/CSUNePGDRmA/?utm_medium=tumblr
