Captains log day 3: today is interesting. I was told to take a shower and let take off the bandages. Um I wasn't ready. Kinda freaked out. It's weird having someone help you get dressed. My mom is the #MVP the nurse told me to put the compression sleeves on today but when I tried it was so tight, I freaked out and wouldn't let my mom or Michael go up my arm because I was afraid the stitches would pop and the pain that hadn't been there was suddenly very real. I know that part was all mental. So I made her ace bandage me instead. I'm not ready for anything to really touch it yet. So mini freak outs seem to be my thing. #totalhonesty still not in pain. I haven't taken pain meds since leaving the surgery center. They feel pinchy and stuff more than pain. So if anyone is considering this but scared of pain, I promise it's minimal and mental. I can't move my arms down yet and my belly is super sore because that's what I use to get myself up. I weighed myself and am down 3.5 lbs so I'm guessing that was the weight of the skin. I'll double check on Tuesday. The bonus I haven't worn a tank top around the house in years and so this makes me really happy. I'm fighting that #bodydismorphia thing where your head tells you that nothing has changed but your eyes tell you different.
