February 15th, 2024: Another new maiko has made her debut! Fumiaya (富美彩) of Toshikimi (利きみ) in Miyagawa Cho is celebrating her misedashi! She is the imōto of natori geiko Fumiyū (富美祐) of Komaya (駒屋) and is the first misedashi for her district this year. The 2 latest Maiko of Miyagawacho, Fumitsuru of Toshikimi and Toshimasa of Komaya. In Miyagawacho, Maiko wear Kuromontsuki for 3 days from the day of their Misedashi, then they switch to Iromontsuki for another 3 days.

November 14th, 2023: Double congratulations are in order for Kyoto's newest celebrants! Mameyui (豆結) of Ninben (亻) in Gion Kobu is celebrating her erikae while Fumiyui (富美唯) of Toshikimi (利きみ) in Miyagawa Cho is celebrating her misedashi! Mameyui's is the third erikae for her district this year so far while Fumiyui's misedashi is her district's fourth misedashi of the year. Mameyui's outfit features a beautiful design of a stream among purple hills with flowers and fans while Fumiyui's outfit features auspicious plants, folding screens, and haze ^^ おめでとうさんどす豆結さんと富美唯ちゃん ^o^! October 31st, 2020: Meet Miyagawa Cho’s newest minarai! Fumitsuru (富美鶴) is the imōto of natori geiko Fumiyū (富美祐) and hails from the Toshikimi (利きみ) okiya! She’s already shaping up to be a graceful dancer, so her career looks to be bright! Look out for her misedashi happening sometime in December ^^ Images are exclusives shared by My Kyoto Photo, so you saw them here first!
December 9th, 2019: It’s been a big day for the Kyoto karyukai! There were three misedashi and one erikae across three different kagai! Katsuhana (佳つ花) of Odamoto (小田本) celebrated her erikae in Gion Kobu to much fanfare. Over in Miyagawa Cho Toshieri (としえり) of Komaya (駒屋) and Kimimitsu (君光) of Toshikimi (利きみ) celebrated their misedashi and look exuberant in front of their mokuroku! Finally, Hideyoshi (秀好) of Masamiya (雅美家) in Pontocho became the fourth debut from the Masamiya okiya in 2019, which can only be described as a bumper year with a bright future! These will be the final misedashi for the year, but there’s still one erikae left to round out the decade ^^! おめでとうさんどす佳つ花さん、としえりちゃん、君光ちゃん、と秀好ちゃん ^o^! Sad News Out Of Miyagawa Cho
These are always the hardest posts to make as retirements tend to be sudden and there isn’t always a reason known as to why it’s happened. All of these retirements have been confirmed by multiple sources, so they are accurate.
Retirements
Kimihiro (君ひろ) of Toshikimi (利きみ) Fukuno (ふく乃) of Kawayoshi (河よ志) The Toshikimi heir Kimihiro likely retired in order to learn the family business, but there are also rumors that Kimitoyo has also retired. As for Fukuno, it’s really not known why, but it’s a huge blow as she was extremely popular and well liked by everyone who met her.
November 16th, 2017: A new minarai has made her surprise debut out of Miyagawa Cho! Her geimei is Kimimoe (君萌) and she is from Toshikimi (利きみ). Her onesan is Kimihiro (君ひろ), which will make her the first imōto of the Toshikimi atotori. Her misedashi is scheduled for December ^^

December 14th, 2017: Congratulations to Kimimoe (君萌) of Toshikimi (利きみ) in Miyagawa Cho on the occasion of her misedashi! She is the first imōto of Kimihiro (君ひろ) and the first grand-imōto of Kimina (君奈)! You can see the entire Kimi- line in the middle image, which includes: Kimitoyo (君とよ), Kimina (君奈), Kimihiro (君ひろ), Kimimoe (君萌), and Kiminao (君直), the retired onesan of Kimina!
