Per Tradition, everytime I get tagged in this post, I share more terrible Lore from Real Life. And I told this story earlier this week. I figured might as well share.

At one point, after a full week of smelling gas, we called the Gas Company. There's a station on the corner and next to that a car lot so there are car smells occassionally. Anyway, I did have 15 gas leaks on my street. Most small. 3 big. Could go at any moment big.

First time, they send out an inspector, who took their readings and left the fuck immediately. Told us there were Some Readings they would fix in 5 - 15 months. Here is a number for scheduling. We said fuck off, basically. We called our Suburb Managment. They said they'll talk to our Gas Company. Second time, they sent a More Important Inspector, who took one step out of their car, their little thingy in their hand went off, and they jumped back into the car but called their boss from there. Apparently, they were too scared to start their car because they were over one of the Big Spots.

Fire Inspector and the Gas Inspector's Boss show up to talk to us, and we learn about why that guy hasn't left because the Fire Inspector is yelling at the Gas Inspector's Boss about it.

Anyway a bunch of Shenanigans they agree to fix it. Process takes like less than 3 weeks. They're also like btw, they used galvanized steel from the street to your house. We'll fix it but fyi if lightning strikes your house, YOUR HOUSE AND POSSIBLY THE BLOCK AND POSSIBLY THE GAS STATION WILL EXPLODE. SO AVOID THAT. YEAH SURE DUDE. They did replace our pipes. Our house no longer is one unlucky storm away from exploding.
