Am I Dumb, or was this memory that Yoshiki is having after the memory of he, Hikaru and their dads watching the fireworks after Kouhei died?? And the ripped up book in the trash is one of Toshinori’s novels??
Which Could Mean Nothing
So looking at the flashback where Toshinori warns Yoshiki about getting snatched up by the God in the mountain. Is it a stretch to think that maybe he was warning his son because he was already, even at that age, seeing the same pattern with Yoshiki and Hikaru that he had with Kouhei? Very close childhood friends, developing feelings for each-other (or at the very least one-sided feelings) ending up heart broken and unable to be together. He definitely knew from Kouhei about the curse the Indou's are said to have, where their lovers are snatched away unless they marry. Maybe he was indirectly warning Yoshiki not to follow in his footsteps and fall in love with Hikaru like he did with Kouhei.
And seeing Yoshiki and Toshinori interact, especially when he tells him "You are nothing like me" (almost like he could read Yoshiki's thoughts) I am pretty sure that's implying he knows. He knows his son is in the same situation he once found himself in, he knows he's in love with Hikaru (he doesn't even know how similar of a situation, because as far as he knows Hikaru isn't dead—unless he suspects something). And how could he not know? Seeing his son's relationship with Hikaru would remind him of his own with Kouhei so much. He would see the yearning, the shame and all the emotions Yoshiki thinks he's successfully hiding because it's like looking right into a mirror, and it must be crushing.

Work in progress: “You are the Timeless Child”
“Gigi, we come from a strange tribe, you and I.” -genderqueer closet case and bipolar alcoholic novelist Ernest Hemingway, to his bipolar alcoholic transgender daughter
theory time this one is fucking terrible but uhm what if. the reason that Kouhei died. was bc nounuki-sama took Toshinori. bc they were gay and in love. so Kouhei was like "naaahhh man pls break the pact this one time take me instead". and so that's actually why og Hikaru was doing the ritual and everyone just lied to him
