More of Azra in Torlas, this time detailing just how awful things tend to go for her family.
“They blamed her for it all, mobbed her, pushed her to the edge of the cliffs. Honourable she was, until the end, refusing to raise her weapon against innocent people marred by violent grief.” She lowered her head a little, voice also dropping, low and dangerous. “I don’t think I could be that nice. My mam certainly wasn’t, and though they never figured out whether Aunt Elzal was pushed or tripped, mam still tried to take the chief’s head off. The others that went to investigate had to stop her. And then she came home, and she had me.”Â
“I’m sorry.” Caeldanas breathed. “I’m so sorry.”Â
Azra shrugged in silence, then tipped her head back with a sigh to look up at the stars.Â
