Privacy or tracking and selling of your data? What are you going to do?
In this video, I run a practical browser privacy test and compare how different browsers behave on real websites. I demonstrate how bad some browsers are compared to others (pop-ups, intrusive ads, tracking, cookie prompts, autoplay videos, and a huge amount of visual clutter) which results in more bandwidth, CPU and memory being used.
Not only does this make browsing bad, but can it can also increase your privacy risks through data harvesting, aggressive tracking, and potentially malicious ads.
I tested a bunch of browsers in this video:
1) Microsoft Edge
2) Google Chrome
3) Mullvad Browser
4) Brave
5) Tor
6) LibreWolf
7) DuckDuckGo Browser
8) Firefox
9) Safari
Iâm just gonna say: download TOR. Keep a copy in multiple places. Itâs slower but if you need the privacy then it canât really be beat.
Realistically using a VPN is enough and could be better if you need to use some program that doesnât work in the browser but for any sort of browsing the web that your government may deem illegal TOR will be there
Thereâs kinda a âooh dark web scaryâ factor to it sure but it can be used just like any other web browser just with multiple encrypted hops through the network similar to a VPN but more. There are also TOR hidden services which are the âscaryâ deep web but itâs not hard to not end up on those (in fact it takes more effort to end up on those)
Also obligatory nerd shit about surface web vs dark web vs deep web: the dark web isnât actually scary at all itâs just stuff that hasnât been web scraped and shows up in search results. Any time you look at a page you need to log in for (bank account info, editing a profile on something, even just looking at email) or when you are looking at something that is generated as you go (YouTube recommendations, tumblr timeline (even logged out)) then you are on the dark web. The deep web is stuff where the servers are obscured (like TOR hidden services) and those are the places more likely to have illegal stuff but thatâs more from the fact of the privacy it affords than an inherent quality of it. Even on the deep web there are message boards and sites that are just the same as surface web stuff. Anyway rant over

The dark web has exerted an almost mystical fascination for years. Many people only know it from films or headlines portraying it as a dark marketplace for drugs, weapons, or stolen data. This reputation causes most people to immediately associate the term with crimeâbut thatâs only part of the truth.
The dark web seems like a mysterious and dangerous place to manyâbut itâs primarily a tool. Used correctly, it offers you privacy, anonymity, and access to information unavailable on the regular internet.
It is important that you internalize the basics :
Only access the dark web with the Tor Browser (and ideally a VPN).
Do not disclose any personal information and always remain skeptical.
Avoid downloads and strictly separate passwords and accounts.
Focus on reputable and trustworthy sources .
This makes it clear: âDarknet Simply Explainedâ primarily means taking your own security rules seriously. If you remain disciplined, you can surf safely, communicate anonymously, and take advantage of the positive aspects of this hidden network â without taking unnecessary risks.
