This is my personal #topnine2020 (at least that I can show publicly so far 😘).
2020 has been hands-down the worst year of my life, but I’m proud of the art I made, especially given the circumstances in which it was created. I tackled some art challenges and overcame them (I can consistently paint dark backgrounds now, and paint around tiny shapes without using masking fluid! 💪) and I worked with some dream clients including Disney/Pixar on that painting in the center and @gallerynucleus and Nucleus Portland for five of these pieces. In fact, all of these pieces were for clients except one, which means something to me personally and was completed after literally spending 3 years tweaking the sketch. It represents personal growth I guess. My improvement this year was subtle but important and I feel like I’m a stronger artist than ever...I’m hoping that 2021 will be better personally and emotionally, and will allow me to achieve some dreams that for too long have been on the back burner. But, anyway, this long-winded post is to say, I hate you 2020, you suck, but at least I got some pretty pictures out of it. Let’s keep fighting, friends. 💛
